Lin's backhand contact point is at the end of the racket. That's where he gets the power. He hits it closer to the tip than any other player in history.

Lin shidong's lower body seems to be less engaged compared to other members of CNT, whose stances rarily get upset even in awkward positions. No I don't think he is as explosive as FZD and I think the desks have been misled by their similar statures and chasing the wrong narrative; imo his backhand can be such a bullet at times is mainly due to racket contact timing and location.

The advantage in a point usually goes to the first to attack, because the follow up is more in favor to the first attacker. Fan Zhendong is an explosive player and has a powerful flick and loop. He can easily utilize it on long and short underspin balls. So he doesn't need or want to chop, or play passively.
