world knows Ma Long is the best player but Mashllah Assar did great and tried their best yes there is improvement required but he scored a few very best points and the smashes were great by Assar - we respect Ma Long too as he worked very hard to be all-time champion

Assar has made a great progress this year. Spectacular win against Truls in Durban, then this tough standoff with Ma - a performance close to top-10. A guy of great talent and perseverance💪👍

@6:08 Assar has good athleticism and there were a few exchanges where Assar showed great imagination and shot selection, BUT he relies on his back hand in almost every way that he attacks. His forehand may be his weakness which is probably why he doesn't switch to it when he should, he prefers to go to his back hand swiping move whether he's going short or long smh. @6:47 again and again...his entire mode of attack is based on his back hand movement. 90% of his mistakes in the game resulted whenever he tried to smash with his forehand, often over-shooting it. @10:00 and @12:15 Examples of his forehand landing and winning for him...when he finally used it. @21:38 Perhaps Omar's best display of trying BOTH the backhand and forehand and was still bested by Ma Long, and Ma Long proves that he's the more complete player by going to the forehand twice in the final rallies to show how much better his forehand is: @22:10

The difference in skill on the first trade of shots is immense. It could be because of a difference in serving quality or just how well they receive the serve but Assar was struggling in receiving Ma Long’s serve which eventually dictated this loss in my opinion.

Игрок «мешает» мячу, если он или что-либо из того, что надето на игроке или что игрок имеет при себе, касается мяча в игре, летящего над или в направлении игровой поверхности, не задев половины стола этого игрока после того, как соперник последним ударил по мячу. Там мяч явно летел мимо и высоко, да ещё не в сторону стола, и задел Ма не над столом ,а за пределами. Омар не прав, отбил же мимо.

Also, Ma long purposely giving a short return to Omar's forehand during a long rally to throw off Omar's footwork, winning the point. Commentators "omg, Ma long's return there really lacked power. so surprising Omar missed that!" XD
