This episode gave Hawkeye a lot of development that simply wasn't there in the original series. She knows that if Roy ever attains his goal, all participants in the civil war will be court marshaled. And she is okay with that. Riza showed a lot of moral fiber in accepting that a truly just person cannot use "we were just following orders" as an excuse to run away from responsibility for all the lives that were unjustly taken. Also, the volume is damn near muted.

@DarnellOB98 Father got as far as he did *because* of the State Alchemists, lol, they literally carved crests of blood for his ritual under the guise of just war. Even ignoring that, they could have simply fled and begun a rebellion. Regardless, you don't justify atrocity now for some supposed future that may never come -- otherwise you'll be repeating atrocities forever. It takes a lot for a trained soldier to throw away everything and stand up to the people who trained them so you should have sympathy for them, but what they did was still wrong. That's why Mustang and his allies accept that they should be tried for war crimes and probably executed.

Remember Patric, the people of circuses were sacrificed to make just one philosopher's stone. Even Bradley states that a philosopher's stone is created from the lifeforce of countless human beings when he was recollecting his past to Mustang.

Last time I'll request it, I swear. If you want to learn how Hawkeye got her dog, a nice memory of Hughes, Mustangs post ishval character moments, Al's history of putting animals in his armer and a hilarious Flame/Fullmetal battle then please react to the 2003 Fullemtal Alchemist episode 13 called Flame vs Fullemtal 🙇‍♀️😁. Great reaction. History of war is pretty ugly. I remember reading 13 year olds being sent out and even younger depending on where/when.

@@nathanj3528 A hypocrite is a hypocrite. It doesn't matter who's saying it if it's true. Mustang, Hawkeye, and Armstrong are also serial killers. They willingly participated in the same genocide that Kimbelee did. The only difference is, he enjoyed it. Kimblee dislikes hypocrisy because it shows weakness in one's values. If they can't stand by what they say when it gets tough, then all their talk is worth nothing. Kimblee doesn't bend or betray what he believes and he respects others that don't even if their opinions don't match.

Because there is a thing called propaganda which works pretty well in every country, especially in the USA where they have children pledging allegiance to the flag every morning in school since they are 5 or 6 years old. It sure doesn't help to have a critical mind towards their own country.

@@joshuagross3151 There's no need to be agressive, I didn't disrespect your flag. In fact your behaviour is quite eloquent of what I was saying. If it was only patriotism you would have been able to have a polite argument to disagree with me. Instead of that you go emotional straight away and take a neutral fact for an insult. From an european point of view this kind of ceremonial indeed reminds more of brainwashing than just patriotism (please remember the recent history of Europe before answering me). Just some weeks ago I saw on Quora a question from an USAmerican who seemed to struggle with the idea of that pledge to the flag in school wasn't a common thing in Europe. In the various answers I learnt that even communists countries during the cold war didn't had such mandatory patriotic stuff in schools. Check by yourself : www.quora.com/Do-European-countries-really-not-say-a-Pledge-of-Allegiance-to-the-flag-of-their-country-every-morning-in-school I'm ok to talk about it if you disagree, but you'll have to show me better arguments than 2 punches to the gut or 1 knee to the nose
@joshuagross3151
@joshuagross3151 4 жыл бұрын
@@lazyshoggy That's nice, but your statement doesn't reflect your candor. In the same string of words that you spoke of propagandism and it's effect on larger countries, you drew a comparison with a cherished tradition in our country. You might not see it's importance, but that does *not* mean emotion in my response was without merit. The flag alone is symbolic to the decades of war and strife soldier and citizen alike have dealt with in our country's birth. It shows our successes and our sacrifices. Even in passing, such statements are provocative in regards to one's sense of nationalism, not just patriotism. So I'm sorry you feel your statement was not worth the aggression it was met with; I can assure you it *is.*
