FULL Panchari Melam |

Chenda Melam performed Sri Peruvanam Kuttan Marar and Team at Sri Poornathrayeesa Temple, Thrippunithura on the day of Valiya Vilakku during annual festival, 2018.
The Melam starts with a detailed Panchari Melam, followed by "Vaka Kottal", Adantha Melam and concludes with Chembada Melam in the Nadappura.

Great effort by you, and the result is worth it. I don't know how did you manage to film in the crowd and got the right position to shoot at every point, especially at the nadapura. Hats off to your hardwork, and this is very encouraging for melam enthusiast, helps in learning. You fetched every detailed observations required. Glad to know that you liked the way I shot it and it helps you in learning :) I have been attending Festival in Thrippunithura for lot of years now. So it helps me a bit in planning how to shoot. I believe, even after all the planning eventually its upto HIM to decide if I can get a decent spot in the crowd or not.. it was easy for 1st Kaalam since the crowd was less.. but it got slightly difficult as time and Kaalam progressed.. at the end, I had to just sneak thru the crowd (thnx to cops & committee who let me in) and squat at Nadappura.. If I dont squat, I would end up blocking the view of the ladies who were already waiting there for a long time.. but I had to do it else I wont get that last 15 mins.. yeah, its a bit of a struggle.. to stand and protect the camera in the crowd and to find a perfect place to place the camera.. but at the end of the day, when I see the clip.. the happiness of documenting a full melam is bigger than my hurting legs and the struggle to capture the video :) :)

@@ganesh.narayanan really satisfying. Sad we haven't met. I have been attending the ulsavam for years too, eight days continous day and night, and that is the same spot where i stand for melam. Unfortunately i couldn't attend this year's valiya vilak seeveli. I do know how hard it is to manage to shoot in the crowd and at the right position. And you captured the way a melakaran wants it. That is the highlight. Once again thank you so much and looking forward to meet you near future.

@@ganesh.narayanan i saw that day morning . but i think it was not on valiya vilakku . and ganeshji, i have one doubt . before 7to 10 years, the night melam will start from 10 o clock and will last upto 2 o clock no ?. but since a few years melam is starting from 11 o clock . do you no the reason for that ?

Sir, just checking we have PERUVANAM POORAM 2019's Pisharikal Bhagavathi's Ezhunallippu Panchari Melam coming in the month of March will you be there shooting the video??? I will be coming there from Bangalore and that's my first Pooram visit, just letting you know that I have seen pooram only in your videos as my parents are from Kannur but I am born and brought up in Bangalore and wanted to meet you in person if your coming...
