Disney and its lawyers did it all above board and by the book. The State of Florida is going to have a heck of a time reversing this contract. It is going to be a battle just to get a restraining order to prevent it from going into effect because it was done above board by the proper entity. 25 years ago I worked for a pop company. Waste Management bought the land immediately next door to the land our water wells were on. We had a citizen at every public meeting taking notes and filing a report back with the company. When it was time for us to resist those plans, our lawyers knew everything that had been said and who the local leaders against the plan were so we could work in concert with them. So why didn't the state of Florida do the same? Because they are arrogant idiots.

Disney has been around for several generations and survived many different politicians , presidents, economic ups and downs ....and they've only gotten stronger. I follow a number of their entertainment shows (Stars Wars etc ) and just watch how terrified the actors are of crossing them. It's hilarious and scary at the same time. @Saltina Wenchito I believe if we consider the Supremacy Clause of the US Constitution, no state or state constitution can violate federal laws or the US Constitution. Corporations are often granted the same Freedom of Speech as the ordinary citizen would be. The Supreme Court has also ruled that states can not violate federal law. The Supreme Court has also considered corporations to have the same freedoms as the individual. So if the US Constitution and SCOTUS says that states can not violate the Constitution or federal law, then DeSantis violated Disney's 1st Ammendment rights.

Florida depends heavily on the tourism industry of which Disney and Universal are big draws to the state. Florida is one of the few states that has no state income tax.
