RULES REVISION! After this game it strikes me that the Fireball Spell and lava might be too powerful. It might be a better mechanic that any creature beginning its turn in fire/lava must pass a proficiency check (using the weapon skill characteristic) or suffer 1 wound (instead of automatically suffering a wound). As such, the skeleton warriors would need to roll a 1-3 or suffer a wound. Thoughts on this rules revision?

Another thing I noticed is that wizard may be a bit too slow, may be worth considering a 5 speed instead of 4, it feels like they get mobbed quick and have very few answers for it. With the nerf to fireball here, may br a solid tradeoff.
@soulless6804
@soulless6804 6 ай бұрын
I think lava and fireball are fine as they are and don't need a nerf. What I would change is the throw mechanic by making it a lot less likely to hit like being succesfull on only 1 or 6 making it a last resort action.

@soulless6804 @GrayArmyGaming How about this compromise, a creature starting on fire from a fireball spell can use its weapon skill to put the fire out without taking additional damage. And lave does not get this debuff/nerf. Especially if the throw action is rebalanced (from my playthroughs throwing has been overpowered).... Going to suggest throw revision on a separate comment

A few rules errors and strategic slip-ups made their way into the game! (Did you catch them? 😉🤪)

in room 3 you could've moved to (5,6) and cast a wall at (4,6) to force both skeletons to run into lava

Room 1... spent 2 Fireballs only counted 1 use on sheet Room 2... first skeleton didn't move correctly after casting the wall... he could have based you if he walked through both lavas killing himself Room 5... speaking of Fireballs Your "Last Fireball" was your 5th of 3 Room 6... Last fireball spell? I got another (6 of 3)

Forgot to remove a fire spell from your character sheet in room 1. But I think the second fire spell was a strategic slip-up and it makes more sense to be a regular attack. And in your wonderful excitement against the beast/boss the final hit never got the armour save roll.
@dragonshadow1902
@dragonshadow1902 6 ай бұрын
Room 3 you never picked up the torch. You moved it off because the skeleton moved to the spot. Since you didnt get the torch you cannot search for the door. Or is the door search not considered part ofvthe torch requirement?

RULE CHANGE - Throw action: It seems there is some agreement that currently the throw action is too powerful. My radical suggestion is to use throw you declare how much of your remaining movement you commit to its success (instead of using character attack skill) before rolling. This adds more strategy as you use both your action and some or all of your speed for the turn to affect the targeted monster's possition (most likely to guarantee 2 damage by putting them in lava).
@ellien6014
@ellien6014 6 ай бұрын
Example 1. My character starting speed is 4. I use 3 to move to a space in base-to-base contact with a monster and with lava next to me. I then choose to throw, I only have 1 speed remaining so it will only be successful on a roll of a 1. Example 2. My character starting speed is 5. I am next to the beast, with 2hp left, that attacked last turn and with lava next to me. I then choose to throw, I decided to use all 5 speed giving me a success on a roll of 1-5, then I can't move away that turn.

I work in youth mental health services and I have been playing this game with my clients (mostly about 11 to 16 year olds) and I have to say, nothing at all has captured their attention and imagination quite like this. Ive also given them the task of using the various lego colors to build their own "factions" in the same way youve used green for orcs and the white for skeletons in this video. So far, we have a legion of ghosts, a race of crocodile people and a giant snail boss who rules over an army of bugs. Thanks for such an awesome system @GrayArmyGaming.

This game is so wonderful. Really a perfect use of the fact that you can reliably place LEGO on top of each other. Much more expensive than cardboard chits or even plastic pegs in perforated cardstock, but it's such a clean way of representing the game.

Thanks so much! Yes, it is a very clean and sturdy design (can even be played in the car!). I have access to all of my kid’s LEGOS that have been collected over the years (along with some really cheap second hand sets), so I have been able to put together everything at a very low cost. Have fun playing!! 😊⚔️🛡️🔥

I think there were parts when you could have looped the enemy with a crystal wall and gotten off 2-3 extra room searches. Would have been perfect to farm for potions while being low on HP and spells. Alsooo Ice spell looking quite weak... seeing as you didn't cast it a single time...
@GrayArmyGaming
@GrayArmyGaming 6 ай бұрын
Completely agree! Ice spell needs some additional benefits to make it stronger! Maybe a healing spell would be better for the Wizard? (Of course, I have the Cleric on the way, and there is a lot of healing there! 🤗).
@wanderingaming5805
@wanderingaming5805 6 ай бұрын
Ice spells could slow the target hit or freeze them for one turn as a potential buff. It might seem really strong but they are limited use after all. Or if you want a defensive spell instead of a heal perhaps a shield spell of some kind that gives them the equivalent of heavy armor for a round or two so they can survive a little more.@@GrayArmyGaming

Great close match and what a clutch desition at the end! Which I think the classes having 2 unique abilities does give the game depth though if possible the mosters should be different and not just paltte swaps... Though that will still be fun in a co-op game. Which I have a feeling the game can be refined even father especly the part usage and engeering which I Feel the game works better with a part list then use what you have in a collection... Which I'll make a version in Lego studio that is Rules As Written but makes more sense to buy as a set from pick a brick/bricklink... Still amazing proof of concept and very well design game!

Ok, Got my version of your game done in Lego studio and man you did a much better job engeering the stuff then I though great job! Though a twiked a few things to make them make sense and be more otimized if someone wanted to not use their collection to play the game... Like every sheet's plate is 6x10 because you want to buy in bulk if possible for discounts and hopefully everything in one place... So the reference sheet had to be reworked and now implies you roll rooms not rewards and eneimes... Speaking of there are 4 enemies in my version... The Spider a black round brick that the player can just move on to KO but you get 3 for a reasualt of 1, the skelton white round brick and stud so just 1 Health but can't counter roll no armor, The Ork brown round brick, green stud and dark grey stud on top... 1 health and 1 armor... and the beast who now if you get a 6 apeare anywhere with the goal but has it's 5 health and can counter attack... To make up for it potions now heal 3 health but spawn in room with 2 Orks... But yeah just some changes that I felt fit with how the pieces I was laying out assembled like... Also I'm thinking of letting you use gold to buy stuff like Fate in other games as you can always get more by back tracking or have more then enough to pay your guides so it gets wasted... But anyway great game and if someone wanted to part it out it would be around $40.
