@scottreich12077 сағат бұрын
It’s never been about his preparation, teamwork, or dedication. Football is a business, and its always been the same in this game, win or get replaced. He wasn’t able to do that. Was it entirely his fault? Hell no. The coaching carousel and garbage protection definitely was a part of it…but he hit the nail on the head. The qb is a huge part of a team’s success, and he didn’t perform at a high enough level to win the games…I’ve always considered him a class act, and Eli sure was big shoes to step into. He never complained, trashed coaches or owners or blamed teammates, just accepted responsibility and moved on. Thats why everyone is talking the way we are. We wanted to win with him badly, and he couldn’t make it happen. we were never mad at him as a person, just upset that he couldn’t perform like Mahomes or Lamar. He did his best, and thats all you can ask for. it just wasn’t enough.

Pat, thank you for sharing this conference, without any added opinions or views attached. Daniel Jones seemed contrite, honest and respectful during this interview. He took his responsibility (blame) for not being the leader he needed to be. He's also young, but has some early wisdom. At the same time a good but not great QB is an easy fall guy. Daniel should not be the only one, but a first among many, in my opinion to leave the Giants organization. Daniel is a good guy and a good QB ! Many teams should be interested in what he has to offer. It's been some tough years, but how we respond to those hard years defines us. I do not think DJ ever had the chance he deserved in coaching the first few years, then a great 2022.. 2023 he had no O-line and all the QB's got hurt that year.. If everyone gets hurt with a bad, maybe it isn't the QB.. This year.. I think he got gun shy, constantly getting pounded into the ground once Thomas got hurt, they had no legit back up to take his place.. I feel bad for DJ, I think like other QB's that did bad in the teams that drafted them, DJ will find his home and do well there.. He has the talent.. Rumor has it after Sam this year, the Vikings will be looking at DJ.. But I am hoping he goes someplace else where he will have the coaching and offensive line he needs.. There i think he will do better than he did in 2022 for us.. He has an amazing arm.. -- Thanks DJ.. Thank you for everything, thanks for giving your all... I appreciate all that you have done.. Well, I have a lot of respect for him coming out and giving as straight of answers as he could. I’d bet his agent flatly told him not to waive the injury clause, and that’s probably what’s best for him, especially given his injury history. I wish him nothing but the best in whatever his future holds, and I think at some point, we’ll see him coaching in the NFL. His game preparation and work ethic has never been in question. He’s always been a class act, and this interview speaks volumes to that. He’s obviously emotional, but a lot of other players would be walking away or doing the bare minimum necessary to continue getting his checks. Instead, he’s still with the team, helping his replacement prepare, working with the defense (which I think is a good idea as long as he isn’t hurt), and doing what’s asked of him despite the situation. To him working with the D - he brings a perspective to the game a pure defenseman may not have. Showing them what to look for in the offense, doing what he can to help his teammates…again, just a class act. I hope he succeeds in whatever he does next, as long as it’s not in the NFC East.

This was never about his character. He's a good guy. For whatever reason, playing the qb position was just very difficult. It's been 6, long years now. Maybe a change is good for all involved. Whatever is going on now isn't working. It's time.

I get it this was actually pretty upsetting to hear but the last 6 years minus 2022 have been nothing but a let down and disappointment from pretty much all accounts and standards this team has.

Did he get enough of a chance, who else would have given him 6 years. Anyone, anyone

Nasty comment

Too many of these 'fans' wishing him well were either crushing this dude his whole career or quiet the whole time and letting other fans get away bashing him even when he played well. The whole Giants organizations failed him from the Maras to the fans.
