This was a members only video, they did not last long due to a very low uptake on channel memberships so video creation was stopped after a few videos.

Do you still do the discord stuff? As I can't really join the channel on YT anymore

@@darkersz yea the Discord server is still running, I don't really do Inventor help or anything over there its mostly for InvMark and talking about Formula 1 at the moment randomly but the invite links are in the InvMark videos.

@@Neil3D i really enjoy watching them. I don't have an autodesk license anynore and i remember you saying about how good it will be if autodesk do a pay per hour thing for people like me who do not have a license at this time. Maybe you know how i can get an educational licence again without an accadenic email address as the autodesk website is a bit vague and a license will justify paying for a service thst i can actuvly use. At this moment in time your channel gives me awareness of product features etc... that can help me in the future (i will have ti watch the videos again to do it but hooefully the awareness will stay with me). Can you have a link/paid finders fee thing to autodesk educational licenses for people. I don't know if thst is possible? I understand where you want your chsnnel to go and i am by far not a computer savy person but is there a way that you can link an educstion license thing to channel membership for people thst want it and then they have good access to your archive tutorials. I have the link but it might be a way you can keep some interest from previous subscribers members. Personally i cannont cimment about what people pay as i use youtube for recreational purposes and not work specific. For me that is looking for free content on the necessay subject. You said thst people come and go for tutorials. They find the necessay information then leave the video which damages the algaeythams. If there is a way to get membership connected to a license then this will identify a better customer base. I do not know how you satisfy all ability levels as alot of what you do personally goes over my head as i am not that advanced on inventor or technically minded for computers. After watching your video on the algarythams and how people use your content i did some resesrch of my own and i identified thst for people like me i watch certain people that blog their life. Not because i am interested in most of them (to be fair Warren has good educational content in his blogs as it is all work based but NDAs will make that harder for you). Blogers get good views as it is sometimes funny but they are life experinces with other people and that can creat humerous content. The big thing that i find with blogers is it is mainly background noise. You dont have to concentrate. Can drop in and out and not miss anything etc... Yes it is completely different from your channel but you want this to be a business and give back for the effort you put in.

LOL....When you stated that the name is "proJECT" vs "PROject" I felt a huge weight lifted off. I swear for that past 3 years while learning and playing with Inventor, I've always struggled with why it was called "PROject" geometry. I feel both stupid and happy at the same time! Cheers!!!!

I'm not sure why this video has just appeared on KZbin for everyone, I made it ages ago and it's been online for yonks! But apparently its just showing like I uploaded it the other day, weird.

Project dwg! i have seen the button a100 times and needet a 1000 times, thank´s. Just a little thing, but membership pay´s off. I would enjoy a vid about copying in inventor, because there are many methods.

Copying would indeed be interessting. Perhaps even driven copies.

From my experience when you master the copy problem you start to get in to parameter driven models, i logic and so on. Becouse when you can reuse your models you put more time into them.

Project dwg - there's a thing I didn't know and saves tracing or damaging the original dwg sketch. This I like. A point on imported dwgs is, to check they are scaled correctly, add a known dimension to a line and, if it isn't 1:1, Inventor (sometimes) will scale it - or it might explode irreparably, but then it wouldn't be Inventor if that wasn't an option.

FYI this isn't a new tutorial video, this is an old video which I've changed from unlisted to public but for some reason KZbin has changed the published date to "now" and pushed it into everyones sub feed! Weird.

That is awesome, that project top 3D geometry would have been useful to know, I can see how that would be useful. As a machinist, fixturing is sometimes very strange cuz you want capture something to machine it, I often have to make something to make something else. I use project geometry all the time because all my fixtures are based on other solid objects, either that or I'm making a mold essentially, with some locating pins. How do I become a member??

Hey Neil i know tutorial are not where you want your channel to go but how about like maybe 1 per month or bi monthly even if they are archived with the old tutorials after a certain time? I am sure lots of people miss that side of the channel especiall with different and updated features.
@Neil3D
@Neil3D 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa, I tried that already and nobody cared. I did it as a members only perk for a few months just to see how many people really actually valued them, for around £4.99 per month, and only 40 people signed up. That might seem like a lot but on KZbin and Twitch, people sign up to more than that in their hundreds of thousands for podcast and gaming channels who offer them absolutely nothing in return. Unfortunately that taught me that although people said that they missed tutorials, they didn't miss them that much, and it was not worth my time to do it especially as I do all of this after my completely separate day job already. So that all got shelved. I did it for several years and made hundreds of them but its very much a 1 sided deal, if I'm to stay here I need to justify the time and tutorials won't ever be able to do that sadly.
