Prellar is one of the Greatest GM's ever in MLB history, and the Padres are very lucky to have him! The man pulls strings year after year that are absolutely fantastic on paper! Its NOT his fault that then they don't live up to their potential. I hope Prellar remains with Padres for the next 20-30 years! 🙂

Now let's go after a starting pitcher

Excited about the move rn! But 5:43 the only problem I have with this lineup is that Arraez is not a stolen base threat. In that sense, he has been a lot like Tony Gwynn was for most of his career, a prototypical #2 hitter. Of course, Tony almost never played with the benefit of a DH, so he wasn't much of a consideration at leadoff after his young speed went away. With the DH, you don't necessarily need a speed guy at the top, just for the 1st inning, but if you're going to have him batting leadoff, it's even more important to have a speedy guy with a decent OBP in the 9 slot, who'll basically act as your "leadoff hitter" for the rest of the game. Kim, Merrill, or even Xander while he's slumping would fit nicely for this role rn (Kim/Xander for sure, if you're focusing on minmaxing the lefty/righty splits). Camp, not at all. No speed, whatsoever. He would be much more suited to the 7 or 8 slot to hopefully drive in potential leftovers in front of him.

Tony stole bases most of his career. what are you talking about?
@Adeon557 ай бұрын
@@GJLCreativeStudios He didn't have his speed in the 90's on, just great baseball IQ, knowing how to read pitchers and pick a safe spot to go here & there

Borna, you mentioned the "cash considerations" the Padres received. I looked it up and the Padres received nearly $7.9 million. This leaves them responsible ONLY for the MLB minimum salary for Luis Arraez. So, the Marlins are paying $7,898,602 of the $8,491,398 remaining for the final 149 days of Arraez's $10.6 million salary. The cost remaining for the Padres is a mere $592,796 -- the prorated share of the $740,000 MLB minimum. This is GREAT NEWS! I recall reading that the Padres had 10M remaining in extra-money after the Dylan Cease Trade. My initial thought was, well that money is GONE now. Now with these "cash considerations", perhaps AJ isn't done yet? He still has MONEY to play with! Have FUN at Wrigley Field!

Good morning Hog! Our line up going to go insane a .350 hitter who will hit well in petco since he dont look for power but to spray the ball. He will also help all guys in the line up with hitting insight

We can all say for sure that Arraez is a Tony Gwynn style hitter. He’s going to be a perfect DH for this team.
Wrong, Arraez, Tatis, Cronen, Machado, Profar, Merril, Campy, Kim, Xander

He doesn’t have no power. Hit 10 last year. And Tony didn’t get more power til later. Annie is on pace for 39 doubles this year. Would be a career high.

this wont be an Adam Frazier repeat with Frazier hitting .330 we get him and he meagerly hits .260 with little impact for the Padres :(((
@Adeon557 ай бұрын
The big difference is that Frazier had one flukey good half of one season. Arraez has been doing this his whole career, leading the league in BA among all players since 2019.

are they going to trade Kim? Does this increase the probability?
@juanorozco45537 ай бұрын
If it's a good move or bad move will depend on the consistency of the rest of the team (for good not for bad), so far it's not good move. The 20 + million players hittin 250 or less it's like 2023. Last year they have Soto and the rest of the team do $h/t. This is Preller makin desperate moves to save his ass. Win mode must be over. They had thier chance and blew it.
