Wilkinson was an excellent player but in this match (series?) he was average at best. How pathetic were the efforts of the commentators to pretend otherwise?

I dunno about pathetic, the flat pass at 1:11:42 he gives is superb but inexplicably BOD fumbles it. That was probably try with robinson on the overlap if Brian catches it.
