What's the point in "restoring" the engine... So cringe. Just few ideas: 1. When painting the block or anything, use masking tape. You don't want paint inside the engine. 2. You spent a lot of time in this, spend also some money and buy new gaskets, bolts etc. Some bolts, maybe the cylinder head bolts, are stretch bolts. It means they are for only one use. 3. There's a certain pattern in which order you should tighten the head bolts. And you really should use torque wrench to tighten them. Also I would use torque wrench to tighten connecting rod bolts instead of impact wrench. I don't think the engine will last long with this "restoration"

I mean, it's great and all that youngsters do something productive with their time, but this feels super sus. Firstly, why is a galvanized body rusting all over like this? Secondly, why is it all muddy like it went for a swim for a few years? And if it did, how come the oil in the engine is still oil and not smudge, when normally mixed with water? Also, why's there so much dry grass and mud in the engine bay? I think this has been staged on purpose to look "abandoned" And in terms of restoring.. Seriously, i cringed for like 25 minutes straight.. every delicate part hammered off and back in, with a rusty mallet. No torque wrench in sight or close within 10 mile radius. Bolts all fastened with an impact, random order. Old headbolts reused. Block and other parts randomly painted green and not even that well. Paint on surfaces it has no business being on. Gaskets!? Who needs them, right!? And don't even get me started on the body work.. after everything, bondo, base and clear, it still looks pitted like a bloody avocado!? Why do this? And it just goes on and on.. If you do something, do it properly or don't do it at all!

I’m pretty sure you need assembly lube on the internal parts. Oh, and a torque wrench would be nice too. That engine won’t run for too long. Just because you washed the internal parts, that doesn’t make them new again… Other than that, nice video I guess.

What's most scary is the pistons and end caps were never marked....pistons are going into different chambers and bearing journals and end caps are not in their proper locations either...so the motor really has to be broken in slowly. New stresses and sealing issues all over the place.

Это просто нет слов да после такой переборки движка его прямым ходом в металлолом везти так как собирал без масла без моментов затяжки и что самое убило так это все перепутано и не на своих местах особенно крышки коленвала и распредвала это сразу смерть движке и кто нибудь видел как он профессионально метки выставил на глаз😂😂😂😂😂

When you start that engine, your crankcase will break. You need to apply tightening torque, to flywheel, crankcase, cylinder head…. And if your pistons rings go down without specific tools for this operation, you will change the piston rings. Maybe when you start this engine you will can see an amount smoke white. If you have not problem, is due to this engine is petrol.

У моего друга такая ауди, он часто говорит что никогда её ни на что не поменяет, но вид его ауди плачевен, не так как на данном подвергшемся реставрации, короче отправлю ему это видео, может это коснётся струн его души к своему авто, тем более что его на 80 процентов лучше от исходника в этом ролике. Но ауди тех лет реально хорошие авто, понимаю его ведь она верой и правдой служит почти 30 лет и все ещё в довольно неплохо состоянии.

какой объем работы и уважуха? накидать шпакли по пару кило на элемент там где надо и не надо. Нормально не зашкурено и не выведено ни одного элемента, канты все кривые, покраска по голому металлу, сварка двери вообще уровень. Про двигатель вообще молчу, он до разборки живее был, чем после такой "реставрации", разобрал, помыл, покрасил все подряд, ни одной новой запчасти,ни одной прокладки, под впуск и выпуск тоже ничего не ставил, не удивлюсь если под головой тоже прокладки нет, а учитывая как он ее зажимал там скорее всего ее и нет, может герметика накидал( завести для видео хватит) если вообще его заведет, ну и без гайки на шатунной шейке долго он все равно не проработает. Руки поодбивать ему а не респект и уважуха
