I bought my 50inch 900 in 2016. It has amazed me daily. I got it in Idaho to get through the 50inch trail posts. I go everywhere but...I went on the White Elephant run here in Arizona a few months back. I was the only guy with a 50 inch trail 900 but there was only one place I had any trouble. That was up an old washed out forrest service/Rancher road that has not been maintained in many years. The big boulders were just to tall for me to get up so my buddies towed me up in 5 or 6 places. I made it! Two days of hell and my 50 inch 900 made it to the end. I use it and bought for the purpose to get to out of the way, difficult places so I can gold prospect. It works for that perfectly. I took the caretaker of an old goldmine out yesterday to metal detect a deep wash in the mountains. He was amazed at how agile the 900 is. I have thought about the bigger RZR but no, I get done what I need with my 50 in 900. RZR is a great product! The only thing I had to do is put 2inch wheel spaces for a bit more stability. They are a bit narrow on those radical angles. I did roll it once, at low speed but didn't hurt anything!

Ive had a rzr trail, turbo and 1000. To this day the most fun I ever had in a rzr was the 900. It is so much fun. Turbo was second best. 1000 was meh. Haha

When beginning the video mentioning the inevitable bigger and badder UTVs out there compared to a 50 inch unit. My mind almost immediately went to how do you keep things in perspective when reviewing ANY SxS, quad, dirtbike? It seems like itd be hard to be fair if you were a big horsepower/70" + guy mainly reviewing a 50" unit and vice versa to be honest. Keep up the great videos. Can't get enough DT!

To be fair. I rode my 16 900xc hard and long. I never had it on its side and with the same suspension as this rzr aside from the wheels that gave it a 55” stance. I couldn’t have been happier with my unit. That being said I recently sold that and got a pro xp. I do miss the nimbleness of the smaller chassis. But all the power and smoothness of my new pro. Make me quickly forget..... that I paid almost 30k for it.

Just a $200 price difference for Fox shocks? What a deal! Wonder if somebody got fired at Polaris.

Yeah, that's a pretty sweet upgrade for 2 bills.

Maybe all their machines are so marked up they can afford it

Not a deal. They’re garbage. Might last a year. Trust me I’ve owned 2 sets on mine. Went with Elka stage 5.

I agree that a roof, windshield and a winch are absolutely necessary. Not equipped from the factory, but gives the Parts Department a shot to make a couple bucks. Not always about the best price, but as an overall Dealership Experience. It's sad that people h have forgotten about this.

The Fox 900 is a good start, but it's time to really upgrade the 50s and 60s to compete with Can Am. Put the dash in front of the driver, add half doors, a roof, and a new 1000cc motor. I want a NEW 1000s!

Agreed, there need to be more 60" width offerings from all of the manufacturers.
@peterdombrowski57275 жыл бұрын
You guys should do a 50 vs 60 inch side by side trail review. Curious if 50inch is worthwhile when I have access to both restricted and unrestricted width trails
@bigbluegpr5 жыл бұрын
If you have access to both kinds of trails, then obviously a 50-inch machine is worthwhile. With a 50-inch sxs, you can ride any of the trails that you want.

Are 50” even as popular as they used to be? I just cam back from Hatfield and McCoy and I saw 2 50” SXS the entire time I was there, one of them was mine. Everyone else had 50,000$ Can-Ams

The Polaris 900 2020 model 900 Fox Edition comes with ride command shows on their website . To know if you could control the fox shucks from the ride command? ,Like on the pro xp!
@kirksachs80104 жыл бұрын
You cannot control the shocks from inside, you have to use the adjusters on the shocks.
@richardb78923 жыл бұрын
I have seen differing response to this question. Does the 2020 Polaris 900 Fox Editon Trail model come with locking front or rear differentials. What say you guys?
@drewcarson60054 жыл бұрын
Just out of curiosity where did you end up with your shock settings? Spring preload and compression clicker settings? Thank you
@dirttraxtv4 жыл бұрын
I'll check with Luke, but here's my recommendation for what it's worth. First, I'm guessing out back he ended up with about 6 from soft and out front probably about 3 from soft, which is a very compliant and very comfortable ride. If you've purchased a SXS with adjustable clickers, take half a day and do some suspension testing. Set your clickers to full soft, then find a section of trail that's a bit aggressive and hit it hard. Keep doing it and make incremental adjustments to your shocks each run until you find the sweet spot. Probably the funnest homework you'll ever do your whole life.

Most "John Q Public" wouldn't know how to finely tune their standard OEM Polaris shocks!! Then Polaris throws some multi-set-tuned shocks in the mix? Polaris must have had some left over shocks they needed to give away and make room for something that sells better!
