Universal Orlando brought back The Rocky Horror Picture Show - A Tribute for Halloween Horror Nights 2013, a roughly 40-minute version of the cult classic Richard O'Brien film.

For those of you saying this is nothing like the original or the actors aren't sticking to the original vocals, its a TRIBUTE. It is not suppose to be exactly like the movie. These actors are talented (can't deny that) and they loved what they did, why can't that be enough to please you. (Not that they need your approval). I saw their final performance of the year and every single one of them had tears in their eyes, as well as everyone in the audience. I believe we can all appreciate that.

If I'd wanted to watch the original, I'd watch the original, it's not hard to find. I wanted to see others experience, interpret that which brings tears to my eyes with every new interpretation. I fucking love Rocky Horror. Also I'm a straight guy but Frank's pretty fucking hot. And Janet's cute as fuck.

I will say the entire thing was an extravaganza back in the 70s / early 80s (I'm an 82 original viewer in St Louis) and the only thing about the tribute was the fact it was at Universal Orlando Studio production that toned it down way too much. And I feel they use standard singers/actors when they could have gotten a multitude of drag queens that would have done a lot better job. I'm hot HATING, I'm just saying.

I keep reading comments like "They just keep doing their own thing. Do the movie." Guess what? Rocky Horror DIDN'T start as a movie, people! If every production of The Rocky Horror Show looked like the movie, they wouldn't still be doing the actual show. Besides, the movie sucks compared to the play, anyway. They took out too many important plot elements, and removed the ending because of some bullshit story about how it was too "depressing." It's an R-rated fucking science fiction movie. The Twilight Zone was more depressing (still good). That being said, it is interesting that they used the cast of the original '73 stage play as the movie's cast.

Billie Stefan well I'm actually part of the local Rocky Horror Picture Show shadowcast in Orlando, FL. We perform at Universal Citywalk, and we own the exclusive right to perform the whole show in Orlando. So they are not able to perform the whole thing.

This was one of the early performances, it's changed since this was recorded. What hasn't changed is the tremendous talent of the performers. ESPECIALLY the guy who plays Frank N. Furter. I know there are a lot of things missing - but it's a theme park show. It's not a full on tribute production. It's basically the gist of the movie in 30 minutes. AMAZING job, and thanks for recording this! I won't be able to go back for a third time this year, so it's nice to have this :)

Out of all the tributes and remakes i've seen, THIS is the best. Kudos, they caught the original characters and I would love to know who this actor playing Frankie is. He NAILED the all mighty Tim Curry and did him justice. I greatly appreciate the attention to tributing the original and not trying to change it. Congrats!!

I actually really liked how they did Science Fiction/Double Feature reprise at the end. I think it’s very creative that they used the whole cast and each small group had a part to sing. It actually works really well since it’s not a full performance, just a small tribute production. I think everyone did a great job! This is amazing!

I saw the RHS live in the Kings road London 25 + times between about 1978 and 79, all these decades later I feel like watching it again and here it is on you tube, this tribute made me laugh and cry more then a few times, beautifully done by all, thank you ... x

I understand completely. I think that if they could have included it, they would have. It simply had to be cut for time. With the pre-show, this thing runs at about 40 minutes, which is as long as Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure. It's only fair that the shows have about the same length.

Man oh man. The ultimate and best "tribute" show of Rocky that I ever saw was at the Maverick Theater in Fullerton. The guys who played the leads were the absolute ultimate. True to the roles and also with their own spin but not changing it to where they ruined it in any way.

Gen X here, grew up watching RHPS at the midnight showings since I was in middle school. As far as a Tribute goes, this was really well done. That cast is very talented and are really engaged in their performance. Thats tough when you have to do multiple performances a day at theme parks. Gotta give them my ❤ and respect. Super professional but still very entertaining. 👍

Well, after seeing the movie, this is a bit lackluster but it was my first experience with Rocky Horror other than the Time Warp. I couldn't stop singing for the next few days, and watched the movie for the first time last month. Though I must admit that the woman playing Janet in this production has an incredible voice, she didn't fit the role. Also, water guns are best special effects.
