I agree 100 %. He was born and raised in USA , California. He chose to hang around bad elements. Rest his soul in peace , his brother got murdered in drive by shooting five years ago. I hope it is not anger or retaliation towards the gang members that drove him into this criminal act. I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. Barrister knows better than me. I wander what the defense attorney will present. If I was his defense attorney , I would defend him by saying he is acting from grief & anger , he is probably searching the criminal who murdered his brother by mingling among criminals. A bit crazy to do this , but I just can’t comprehend a whole educated man with two descent parents will commit such a crime. The system here is shameful, he is their citizen and should address him as USA citizen. Sad very sad. I don’t know when I could overcome my sadness. All the education wasted , now wife better run away before they destroy her. Prayers for parents.

Yes in a system like America it’s possible to be married and not know if your spouse is actually working a “real job” especially if you don’t have a spirit of discernment. As a nurse she could have been busy with her career working nights shifts and sleeping during the day and was just trusting what he told her.

The sad thing is that most stores here do not keep huge amounts in the cash register so I wonder if his robbery career was worth his life and soul. As a business owner I know, once you have over a couple of $100 bills in the register, you remove it or have them page the shift manager to put it in a safe. It’s why we tell cashiers & clerks to never argue with a robber, their lives are more precious than money. There is usually less than $250 in any cash register at any point in time even at a Walmart store but many still choose to waste their lives & risk those of others. It’s only in Nigeria that your politicians carry around $100 bills. Most pay with debit/ credit cards, electronic devices and Apple Pay here. In fact in my business for many years we keep a lot of Pennies, nickels, dimes, $1 notes, $5 dollar notes and a few $10 and $20 notes. Sadly he may not have grossed up to $2000k in all the robberies so I don’t believe it’s what funded the elaborate wedding. His wife and parents may have done it. He may have addiction issues. Thank God he didn’t get to use the gun. The craze for lavish parties & spraying by Nigerians is bizarre. An extravagant wedding doesn’t guarantee a successful marriage.

Thank you Barrister ❤. He is a US citizen born and raised in America , why they say he is Nigerian doesn’t make sense. Is it when an African is a scientist or Engineer they address him as US citizen ? When he commits crime he is addressed as an African. Charles is a university graduate with a masters degree and married to a nurse who is Director of Nursing , his parents both educators who retired now after serving the school district in Los Angeles. His nineteen year old brother was murdered in a drive by shooting five years ago. This is a very sad story. Thank you for your detailed explanation on how the legal system works. @@eteneshtefera5093 The money spent was huge that was what triggered the investigation. LA is expensive what was the source of income. Normal parents will ask. Even when planning the wedding, parents usually ask details of the wedding and how their children will fund it. They chose to turn a blind eye. They spend huge amounts in Nigeria and America. You can't say they were curious enough to at least ask a twenty-six year old were the funding is coming from. It's not like he was in his late thirties or forties. When a child comes into ethical money, trust me that that child tells his/her parents how it came to be. It was a no questions asked kind of parents.

@@---re9jc I agrée to your saying , here in USA it is easy to be big spender. People abuse credit cards , in this particular case, what made me suspicious is the drive by shooting of the brother, apparently illegal activities were in progress RIP 😭. When your child turns 18 yrs old , you got no say in what your kids do. I am sure dirty money had been flowing , but it is all beyond what the parents could control. Pass 18 no parent can tell kids what to do. A very sad situation here in the land of plenty. Plenty things go wrong. Prayers for both parents.

2002, in my early 20s, I was dating a nice guy who has no issues spending serious money on me but 6 months in I broke up with him why? I don't know where he works, he won't tell me nor give me his work number. I broke up with him, a girl I was friends with then called me a "fool" but I was not a fool, where ever we work in this America there's a work number and a business name, where you can't provide those information then you are into something illegal and I wanted no part of it. Your paycheck must match your spending, even if you have a side hustle it will have a paper trail, how does he explain his extra source of money to her? Or she dated and married someone she doesn't know how much he earns? In this America we live in? You date someone, marry him and never saw his earnings? I laugh. It's people like him and the credit card fraudsters that make those who don't live here look down on honest hard working Nigerians. Let him enjoy the time he is about to do in prison.

This guy was born in the USA, and he was a drugs abuse counselor, so it maybe difficult for his wife to know that he does robbery. The wife was also born in the US as well, a registered nurse and a director of nursing in a nursing facility. Hence, she may not suspect that the guy is a bandit. This is so sad and embarrassing. For the wife, she might not have known what he was up to. A nurse in US are usually very busy. Also it depends, if they were living together. If she was spending few nights with him, he could easily hide the cash from her. Tbh even if they lived together, he can still hide the cash. The only thing that could make her suspicious is the change in spending habits! For him to start his armed robbery career before his wedding, it seems the pressure to have a lavish wedding might have got to him and then he just continued and spiralled. When money is free, it's difficult to stop Nigerians, it's not by force to do big wedding, your future is what's important. My cousin has decided to do a small wedding of 40-50 people, a lot of family members and friends are not invited, but at the end, she will have a beautiful small wedding, have fun and save money. Wedding is not a competition and not a fashion show/show off competition. A wedding is about husband and wife celebrating with family and friends. A lot of marriages are failing because the focus is on the wedding not the marriage! In this case this guy has ruined his life. He will come out of prison in about 10-15years, his wife wof 3months would have remarried, even have children with someone else, his parents might disown him, the Nigerian community will not want to be associated with him, if they do it will only be lowkey! Such a shame

Sixty eight times to be precise. The way they investigate here is , just because he is apprehended doesn’t warranty arrest. The investigators follow him until a concrete evidence is established pointing to him and him alone is documented. Here in USA criminals could sue law enforcements, no be like Africa. The wife probably didn’t know , the famous Green River sériel killer in Seattle, Washington, wife never knew because he committed his heinous act after he gets off work and comes home quietly and went to bed. Wife should have questioned where all the money is coming from. She makes over 100 K so she probably didn’t suspect. Hard to blame wife , the elaborate wedding is questionable ? What is funny is he is a Red hut chief in Onitcha, people are saying , Chief in Nigeria, Thief in America. This is not a laughable matter. My heart goes out to his parents. God bless them.

His wife knows all about his robbery. That's for sure. Women are not that stupid. But she won't be charged as an accomplice probably because of lack of evidence. The big question is! Why didn't he stop the tenth, the eleventh times or whatever, and use the proceeds to establish a business or something? He thought he was a smart cookie, and he will never be caught. Some people into some dangerous crimes today will see this and still turn a deaf ear. Just because justice is not executed speedily on the wicked doesn't mean it won't be executed. When a dog is heading straight to his grave, he becomes totally oblivious to the whistling of his master. Only one way to go through life. Only one way, and that's to do right!

Yes for people in my country who admire people without knowing where the money is coming should learn a lesson. People do nonsense go back home build mighty buildings in few months and you take years to do yours and people are thanking you are stingy or lazy .

For any Nigerian to be bold enough to become an armed robber in a foreign country, he of course was once an armed robber in Nigeria. A married man told his girlfriend that he dealt on fairly used cars, buying and selling. She saw him bought cars and resold them. She believed that he was actually a car dealer. But the truth was that he was an armed robber who robbed people outside his city and state. She collapsed when she was told that he was arrested for armed robberies and for a long time he had been on police wanted list. So, it is possible also that his wife was not aware that he was a thief.

He was born in the US but the family as in the man and his brother seemed to be mixed up in gangsta culture. His younger brother was killed in a drive by shooting. This suggests an association with bad neighborhoods and drugs.

Do some people love complicated lives, after the lavish wedding the next show stopper would be a baby shower baby dedication in the church. Living within your means is the best way to live and be happy, as long as you go out everyday to do your best to provide for your family.

Cash registers of convenience stores never carry more than 200 dollars. After 5 robberies he should have found that out. Probably why he had to rob so many times just to make 500 bucks. Its stress that comes with a possibility of jail time He needs deliverance.

The wife either is using her head to think (wise woman) or she is using her legs to think (foolish woman) carried away. USA is a Continent you can easily detect things faster. You court with a man for good 10 years. 8 years things weren't flowing, all of a sudden things started over flowing without you checking the source of all these overflow. Either she is a foolish woman or has a nonchalant attitude. Even when a man is lying, there are ways to check, check some documents he was getting all these contracts or making money.

11:56 Yes. There are many couples that never discuss money issues in depth. May be he lied to her that he was doing night shifts in certain places 🤔 But what if she was the gate away driver? That would be interesting.

Parents definitely knew. It is a no questions asked knowing that he was doing a regular job. Wife possible not as they were newly weds. It is easy to explain things away with his wife. Loan from the bank, parents or whoever. If it were a three year marriage or more then yes, the wife might be questionable.
