Full Scottish breakfast in Glasgow!
Check my food trip to Lewis and Harris! 👉 • Street Food on an EPIC...
A Full Scottish breakfast fry up is a must have if you are travelling to Scotland or want to try Scottish Food, regardless of whether you are in Glasgow, Edinburgh or elsewhere. Not giving you a recipe here, just showcasing some common food you'll find in this massive breakfast. Potato scone, sausages, poached and scrambled eggs, stornoway black pudding, haggis, baked beans... It's a huge big breakfast and finishing it was a challenge, one of the british cuisine dishes with most calories in it! Definitely a must try if you are wondering what to eat in Scotland and want to eat like locals!
This is a travel for food channel and I enjoy eating street food around the world! Eating street food from different countries is what keeps me alive :D

Dan, that sure looked like a great breakfast. I'm adding that restaurant to my list of places to visit in the Glasgow area - thanks! A full Scottish breakfast is almost always, amazingly good. Toast, tattie scone, eggs in some form (fried or scrambled), skillet fried mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding and a meat of some sort, such as pork link-sausages or square sausage (aka Lorne or Slice sausage), or back bacon or sliced haggis, and baked beans in tomato sauce. I'm Canadian of Scottish decent an love everything Scottish!

Square slice X's 2, Bacon X's 2, Eggs X's 2, Tattie Scone X's half. Haggis sliced X's 2, Soda Scone Fried X's 1, Baked Beans, Fried Tomatoes, Mushrooms,. Addition of Black Pudding, Hash Browns, Fried Bread and toast with butter. Tea or Coffee. Now that's a Scottish Breakfast. Me, less the black pudding. The other Scottish Breakfast to try is, Lorne Sausage with Baked Beans on a roll. OMG

Now I've seen your video Dan, I'm glad I didn't spoil your breakfast when I stopped for a chat as you were filming! The locality is normally known as Dennistoun, and of course Coia's is one of the best known Italian restaurants in Glasgow. Celino's, round the corner in Alexandra Parade, is also excellent and worthy of a visit.

Excellent video clip ,, well done ,, traditional Scottish food well indeed, you either love it or hate it. I'm originally from central Scotland, I now live in central British Columbia. I enjoy a full Scottish breakfast every couple of weeks. I had an old country butcher shop and delicatessen in the North Vancouver area for many years. I'm well retired now and have been for a while and enjoying my retirement. I had more compliments on the Scottish products I produced than I can remember. I certainly had a good quiet laugh when customers would look at my haggis and say " oh God, I'd never eat that " but they had no problem buying hot dogs and bologna. If anyone may be interested in the comparable ingredients ( my haggis against hot dogs / bologna ) let me know, I'll post it ,,

I’ve eaten many times in Coia’s, lunch and dinner always good, I’ve never had a bad experience. Breakfast is another matter, I’ve had the full Scottish breakfast at Coia’s one time and would never return for their ‘breakfast’, the black pudding had the consistency of an ice hockey puck, the sausage, fried bread and bacon were all burnt to a crisp. Very similar to what you’d expect from ASDA’s supermarket cafe. I’m fairly sure the owner only works there on a lunch time and evening basis, not sure why their breakfast cooking is so terrible, I can’t imagine anyone crunching their way through the breakfast and declaring it as ‘good’.
@DanFandelli

That's interesting, I am by no means an expert of good Scottish breakfasts, but I found this one to be quite good compared to the ones I've had before. Maybe I've only had bad ones then 😅 what's your favourite place in Glasgow for a good scottish breakfast then? 🙂

@@DanFandelliI don’t have a favourite breakfast venue in Glasgow, if there were a place I knew of that cooked breakfast to order I would say there would be a good chance it wouldn’t be dried out/over cooked.
