Zee Sanchez youre funny :) do they last? I just ordered a full kit that ill be using in salon. Bad idea? Im scared!
@ZamaraSanchez
@ZamaraSanchez 6 жыл бұрын
SarahLeonie Boyer They do last but they def do not replace acrylic. They require a lot more tender love and care or they will come off. I think it is a great idea you are offering since so many people request these now. I recommend these to people who will not use acrylic in fear of it ruining their nails. It’s a great way to add the length without them being so scared. Just make sure you practice on a few friends before you start charging for them, it does take some getting used to applying. If done incorrectly they may pop off in a few days. I have worn mine for 3-4 weeks

This was a great video, thanks for the tip on cleaning the free edge to keep the shape. You should tag apres nails in your video so more people see it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I also use this nail system and love it, but how do you feel about when they grow out do you find you have too much of a edge towards the cuticles? I’m afraid my clients may pick at it. Thanks
@ZamaraSanchez
@ZamaraSanchez 6 жыл бұрын
Re Ha I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the tip of tagging them I didnt know I could do that. I get to figure it out :) I make sure to file down the edge with the safety bit so that they dont have an edge. One thing I have found works is if you place the nail tip a tiny bit away from the cuticle. When you go in with the safety bit, you are able to blend the edge to the natural nail. When you place the polish on top it blends them both together nicely.

dimond life201 These nails are made with soft gel so they are a bit more high maintenance than acrylic. If you dont hit them anywhere and take really good care of them you can wear them for 3 weeks and they’ll still look very nice. Some people wear them more than that, my longest client was 1 month but it really all depends on you. Some people only have them for a week because they are not careful. Hope this helps!

Okay so I’ve been watching many tutorials, and I just wanna make sure... these are good enough to not have to put any acrylic or hardening powder?? Do they last? A lot of my girls work as cashiers or serves so they want to know if this technique is as long lasting as acrylic or nexgen
@ZamaraSanchez
@ZamaraSanchez 6 жыл бұрын
Genesis Q Hello! Sorry for the late response! They are strong enough to not need any acrylic over, that is correct. However they do require a little more TLC from the client so they don’t break off. These are soft gel, so it is easier to break them if they are too hard on them. If they are used to always having acrylic, they might not like the switch to having to be more careful. These are best for girls that don’t always wear nails. Hope this was helpful!

How much do you think a nail tech should charge for these? I'm super interested but I have no idea what to charge since theyh do not get fills (which would be cheaper than a full set) so I'm just kinda like "will my clients want to do this since they get a new set EVERY time?"
@ZamaraSanchez
@ZamaraSanchez 5 жыл бұрын
Angel Rodriguez Hello! I charge 5 dollars less than an acrylic set. Some people charge more than an acrylic set because at the end of the day these are a better product and cost more than the materials for acrylic. So you do want to keep that in mind. But overall, think of yourself since it is your business. These a lot easier for you, faster sets, less toxic powder in your lungs and a lot less stress on your wrists so you want your girls to opt for this over acrylic. If you charge a little less they are more inclined to do the switch. All they need is one set of Gel X to never need to go back to acrylic :)

Good morning! I did use it one time but kept it around and it didn’t cure because I keep all my materials put away in cabinets. I would assume if you keep it out on display it could cure. How would you troubleshoot the gelx with lifting or popping off after only a week? Would you attempt to "fill" the lifted nails? Or replace completely?
@ZamaraSanchez
@ZamaraSanchez 6 жыл бұрын
Jypsy Love Good Morning! I wouldn’t attempt to fill as that could get you moisture trapped between the natural nail and the enhancement and it’s not pretty getting green nails 😓. In that case I would remove and replace completely. A few things to try, make sure when you prep the natural nail that you are removing all the dead skin around the cuticles. Also, you can gently buff the natural nail to remove the shine, that will create better adhesion. Always make sure that you are not placing the enhancement over any cuticle as that will cause lifting. And lastly, when you are placing the gel x enhancement make sure you are using enough gel and pressure. There shouldn’t be any air bubbles when you flash cure. Hope this helps!

@ZamaraSanchez

Lady Lindsey Hello! As far as strength I would say they are, but if you are super rough with your nails these might fall off sooner than acrylic would. But overall very similar. Just a way lighter wear it doesn’t feel like you are wearing enhancements.

Do you think that someone who isn’t a nail tech would be able to apply these nails?
@ZamaraSanchez
@ZamaraSanchez 5 жыл бұрын
Mikiellie Newman Good Morning! I would say Yes. However it will take some learning since they aren’t your typical press ons that only require glue. You would need to understand a bit about nail preparation and cuticle preparation in order for the nails to last. But there are plenty of videos on YT that will teach you that :) A few tips: have lots of patience specially if doing them on yourself. It took me 3 tries before I got them right. But once you do, its super worth it!

How do these compare to gel/tip extensions?
@ZamaraSanchez
@ZamaraSanchez 5 жыл бұрын
carrie2208 Hello! These are very similar. I would say just a bit softer. They so require more love and care however. With acrylic sometimes you are able to hit them and they wont break. These tend to break a little faster if the clients arent careful.

So on the glitter nail, since you used a hard gel to mix, do you file off the hard gel before soaking off? Speaking of soaking off, how long does it take usually take on a client? Oh, and after filing the inside of the tips, do you clean the dust off with alcohol? I’m assuming the dust might cause lifting.
@ZamaraSanchez
@ZamaraSanchez 6 жыл бұрын
Sam Hugh Hello! I didn’t soak these nails off, but yes I would file down the hard gel for soaking. Normally I cut down and file then soak off the rest of the nail, it takes 15-20 minutes. These nails are really easy to remove. I usually just blow on the nail then use a small brush to remove the dust. Wiping with alcohol will help too.

gospelevans Hello! Since the nails are soft gel when you wipe with acetone, not alcohol, it begins ‘melting’ down the nail and it leaves a sticky layer behind leaving the nail ready for polish. :) hope this helps!

Does anyone know if other products (Gelish etc.) can be used with this system to adhere the Gel-X Nail Tips? Reason I'm asking is because I plan to purchase this system but what if I run out of the Extend Gel? I don't want to order an extra Extend Gel until I try the product first. Thank you!

You still have to file the natural nail and prep like normal. Why would you think that filing the tip replaces that? That doesn't make sense because if you had filed the natural nail it would be the gel coated on top of it anyways, it never touches the nail tip directly. Filing the nail tip is necesary because it helps the tip adhere to the gel you apply to it, which adheres to the gel on your natural nail. But without regular preparation for gels, that gel on the natural nail can come off.

Create Your Bliss I see what you mean, however those where the instructions originally given by Apres 😅 Not sure if it makes a difference or not 🤔 lol but so far it has worked great for me. I have seen a few people do it differently though. I think once you get the hang of the system you can start changing things here and there.
