Poundstone was a total beast here. Outstanding. Giants Live should create a network; WWE style. Make all the previous GLs, WSMs and anything else they have the rights for available on demand and stream all the upcoming live events. Throw in some interview shows with current/retired strongmen, training footage and some sort of The Office style fly-on-the-wall documentary featuring Colin Bryce. Would be well worth $10 a month or whatever the charge.
@dennisvansant12792 жыл бұрын
Truly a testament to how amazing and well-rounded of a strongman Poundstone was at his peak. The fact he just narrowly missed out on winning the stones and get the clean sweep is a metaphore for his entire career. This and winning the first Fortissimus are his greatest accomplishments for me, and it makes me sad the “mainstream” crowd will only know him for coming in second against Mariusz that one time. I feel like with one or two different events, Poundstone would’ve made kindling out of Pudzianowski.

Agree! It's as if once someone has made an "impossible" lift, everyone else just goes ahead and does it because apparently it wasn't impossible. Slight hyperbole there, but there is that vid where the world record deadlift was broken 11 times in a few minutes and then there's Ivan Makarov's almost successful 505kg lift from last year. Dude was like an inch from clearing the hard part of the lift. Makes you think where the absolute limit of human ability actually lies.

@MichaelSmith-ck2ro2 жыл бұрын
Because of the other competitions and events leading up to these competitions. Like the wsm competition, you have to qualify to be in it. So the guys you see in the main comps have beaten others and therefore qualified for the big comps. Although I've always said I'm sure there are others throughout the world who maybe can't afford to enter the comps because they don't have the money or can't afford to take time off work or whatever the case may be that could be stronger... I guess We'll never actually know for sure. But the guys you see in these comps are the strongest that have entered and worked their way to the top
