My first two cars were Fords. My most recent two were Hondas. I prefer the Hondas because their repair rate has been much lower, almost non-existent tbh. All these have been ICEs, not EVs. I would like to own an EV, but I won't consider buying one until my Honda Civic quits, and I don't think that will happen any time soon.

I bought a gift card from Target 1st of Dec 2023 & my daughter. said there was no money.. I was able to show taget my receipt via Email & phone call & we got the 75$ back that was stolen. A win for us..Maybe Taget changed their policy in 2024? Thank you Clark for all you do..

Statistics show that marriage contributes to longer life. If you spend your life with people who talk about divorce, you'll never be happy. I live in Ocala Florida, Shell gas allows their stations to charge per gallon a fee for using their gift card. They have not appear interested in doing anything.

Squatting is a real, serious problem and its current manifestation is NEW. Jennifer is way off base, and it sounds more like some kind of ideological drivel rather than informed commentary. As far as squatting in the past, it refers to unused land or abandoned property, NOT currently occupants going out for a stroll and finding criminals trespassing. A person who unlawfully occupies a residence is a trespasser; a person overstaying a lease or claiming a legal right to stay beyond the terms of their agreement should not have anything to do with squatters' rights, but recent innovations in interpreting laws have led to these issues in a few states, leading to Florida and other states taking action to rectify this. Good job, Clark. :) Been listening to you for 20+ years. --An intellectual historian/professor

I'm convinced they read some of these Clark Stinks critiques simply to have the writer checked by others for being so utterly wrong. Obviously, Clark can't call them out on it most of the time, but to compare 2024 squatters to Native Americans from 200+ years ago is categorically absurd.

Some people are good at marriage, and some aren't. My marriage of three plus decades is a source of so much happiness. A person needs to know themselves and choose a partner carefully. Marriage counseling before and during is worthwhile. The writer is correct. It can be a source of misery if not carefully considered.

The problem with American cars is that in general, people don't take care of their cars, even with general maintenance. Toyota, Honda, etc. are generally more "idiot proof" and are built to the point that the tolerance for issues is higher. American cars are fine if you take care of them and pay attention to service intervals etc. but they seem to have a much lower tolerance for failure with certain parts. If you are lazy and don't pay attention to how your car is running or anything else, then get a Toyota or Honda. If you're a "car person" it doesn't matter what you drive since you'll more than likely be up on the maintenance and know when there are things you need to fix.

I have to chime in on the car discussion. I drive a Volvo. I’ve been in a hell of an accident myself. I’ve had many friends and acquaintances killed at young ages in car accidents. I worked with TBI facility. There I worked with patients who survived car accidents but quality of life wasn’t as good as they’d like it to be. There I’ve seen family fortunes evaporate due to health care costs. My advice is buy the safest car you can buy. It may be the best investment you ever make. The IIHS does exist. Most cars ace the IIHS test. But IIHS only does so much. Volvo puts there cars through much better safety testing on there own then the IIHS does. From what I’ve read, when Ford owned Volvo, Ford and Volvo engineers were at constant odds as to just how safe a car needed to be. I say make as safe as you can. I’ll never buy a Ford knowing they are not making it as safe as possible. Toyota has safety/falsify safety records issues from time to time. As for reliability, I think many people confuse longevity with reliability. They are not exactly the same thing. Volvo scores low in reliability but has a reputation for great longevity. I’m a car buyer rather than car lessor. So, I’ll take car longevity. Also, Asin is a secret to Toyota’s longevity. However, other manufacturers are now just purchasing from Asin. So, over time this may improve their longevity as well. Sorry for going on too long. 😮
