Fantastic breakfast tasting! All these items are regularly cooked in south Indian homes... not all together of course. 😁 They involve a lot of prep work... soaking Rice, lentils in various proportions, seasoning, grinding, fermenting, grating, tempering ... lots of cooking techniques involved. You guys make super great couple.. love to watch your Indian food videos.. I live in NJ.. Flushing temple is a great choice for south Indian breakfast.. they have improved by far a lot.. I was laughing loud when you were trying to say Bisibele bhath.. it mean hot lentil mixture.. :) she got it right.. we call sweet as jahangir.. NJ NY has a lot of Indian restaurants.. cant wait for your videos.. vada also made of a type of lentil.. Uttapam and pan cake kind of same :) just that uttapam is far far healthier then pan cake.. also strange thing why people here haven't tried veggies on pan cake.. uttapam is not made of flour..coconut chutney is nations favorite in India.. :) In NY on Lexington Ave there are quite a lot.. but in NJ on Oak Tree road Edison and Newark Ave in Jersey City has a whole lot of Indian restaurants.. you won't be disappointed.. :)

Vada (Aka Medu Vada): Made of fermented lintel batter. Mainly Skinned Black Gram (Urad Dal) and/or Bengal Gram (Chana Dal) mixed with curry leaves, black pepper, green chillies pieces, ginger, cumin seeds, coconut flakes. Batter is put in oil to fry with hands making hole with thumb. Can be enjoyed 1) as such, 2) with coconut chutney, 3) lightly soaked in Sambhar, 4) fully soaked in Sambhar, 5) soaked in both chutney and sambhar. Each time tasting differently. Same applied for dosas and uttapam.

Lot of chutneys are made of coconut especially in south India bcoz we are blessed with coconut trees.....each household in rural areas will have 2-3 coconut trees, which makes sense why we have so many dishes made up of coconut....Loved your reaction on our south indian food❤️

Super Super Super cool !! I guess it's a well deserved complement to the South Indian Breakfast that you said, you felt comforting and homely. Thats exactly what it is - comforting. People live on just Dosas, morning, afternoon, evening and in the night too! It's really hard to know how many kinds of Dosas are there !! However, my favorite way to end the breakfast is a 'HOT FILTER COFFEE'. Next time, you ask for a Filter Coffee and it must be had after Dosa. The hot filter coffee perfectly complements a Dosa. 👍👍👍
