South Indian food especially from Kerala is so different from N.Indian cuisine & everything is coconut based. Glad you're taking a shot at it. Just watch out for sharp bones in some of the fish. Avoid swallowing, always chew when in doubt . In the West every fish is a filet but rarely in India so concerns me when you guys try fish.

We were also concerned when we are fish, even when we thought we got all the bone out of the way of our bite, there were still some bones that snuck in.

Chad and Joy 💕 I am so happy you visited my home state Kerala. I really wanted to see your experience when you ate Kerala food because I knew it's a lot spicy as compared to other parts of India and their cuisine except for North East. I actually thought that Joy would be able to handle the red fish curry - kudampulli fish curry spice. It's heavy with its use of red chili powder plus you guys went to toddy shop and these shops are known to have spicier food than your regular Kerala restaurant food. My all time favourite is pearl spot pwolichathu, crab roast and duck roast. Waiting for you whole India videos. Hope you get enough subscribers with these videos. 💕💕💕💕

@@GoodPalate trueee only a true food lover will have all this idea . If you ever want to try Bhoot jolokia ( ghost chilli) try in the North East state only, outside our region the chilli loses its taste. Its a heaven for Non vegetarian:) . Do try bamboo shoots and fermented soyabean as well. I'm sure you'll love it. I've tried Kerala cuisines from Thalassery joints in Bangalore, I love the Malabar biryani also puttu ❤
@GoodPalate
@GoodPalate 2 жыл бұрын
@@Sunaina2024 What part are you from? Nagaland and Mizoram produces Ghost pepper right? Yes I am a total foodie. Also I feel there's similarity in ingredients from Thailand because even Thai dishes I have seen fermented soyabean and bamboo shoots used a lot. Plus north east has a wide variety of herbs that's used which isn't found in other states. Thallasherry Biryani is good but I like all the fish 🐠 here in Kerala. It's very fresh 🙂. I wish we could meet and talk and everything. Bangalore there are some authentic Kerala restaurants. I am glad you have got authentic food.

Hey Guys, New subscriber, just came across your channel. Keralite living in the US . Your comment about the duck liver or other liver, is so apt that it's an acquired taste. Spice control can be done by curd/yoghurt/buttermilk/tender coconut water. They give a cooldown to the body 😀👍. If you are still in Kerala don't miss the Sadhya thali. It is famous and very tasty 😄

I think the toddy’s (made from coconut) were supposed to help balance the spice level, but it was fun to taste it in all it’s spicy delicious!

In crowded restaurants, you should plan using some high gain directional microphone 🎤 that can filter out noise, otherwise the BG and noise is bit unpleasant while the food is eye carnival for viewers. Welcome to India. 😊.

Most westerners get confused with word SPICY printed in the Menu. There are over 100 "Spices" used in Kerala cooking most of them locally produced.BUT there are " HOT SPICES" and " AROMATIC SPICES" EVEN HOT CURRIES WILL HAVE AROMATIC SPICES( not only in sweets or confectionaries). So even the permutations and combinations and their treatment like roasting or wet grinding etc makes lot of difference in the final taste and flavor.

I'm a little sad that you went to a Toddy(Palm Wine) restaurant and didn't try the Toddy, the fish and all the dishes in a Toddy restaurant are always a little on the spicier side, because, you know, the Spicy food goes well with the sweet and sour Toddy....😊😊😊
