@@KMF3 The diocese is quietly moving forward. It's awkward having no bishop. I was at mass where the Apostolic Administrator, Bishop Vásquez, presided. All good, but he's not our bishop. Ironically I left his diocese to come here because I couldn't find mass on Mondays, and no Latin mass in the area I was in. I get the impression several of the things Bishop Strickland set in motion are losing momentum, but not everything. There's a good number of us who miss him.

My daughter and her family moved to Tyler 3 years ago, from Canada. All they could talk about was Bishop Strickland this, Bishop Strickland that. My first visit Tyler Texas I was Blessed by my first Mass in Tyler, and Bishop Strickland was the celebrant that day. He is such a wonderful Bishop, I was introduced to him that first visit. I was devastated when I heard he was being removed. Even though he can’t celebrate Mass in the Tyler diocese, but he is still very invested into spreading the faith and love. He is a very humble man, and is so well loved by the people. I have never met a person so joyful and faith filled person in my live. I still go down to the Tyler area every fall for the winter, and I’m very blessed to still see him quite often each year . Can’t wait to go down again in October to be able to join the people that still have contact with him. God Bless you all but most of all for Bishop Strickland.

Until Bishop Strickland was removed from his Texas diocese, I did not know of him. NOW, he is the Bishop of all faithful American Catholics and other people around the world! Vatican II (Novus Ordo) was promulgated by Pope Paul VI sustained by Pope John Paul I, Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis. Just like Pope Pius V in 1570 (during the Protestant movement after the Council of Trent), Pope Paul VI used the power of the keys binding heaven and earth on the new mass - the validity and sacredness of the Novus Ordo liturgy as a Catholic Mass is approved in heaven and on earth. Pope Pius V never said that the new pope cannot compose new liturgical rites.

We had looked at property in the Tyler area on the weekend the Vatican sent their emissaries, June of 2023. We wanted this area for all of the same reasons, a great community but mostly Bishop Strickland and the diocese he fathered. Just before the weekend of that visit our area into East Texas suffered a massive destructive derecho. It was horrific, I saw the signs at that moment of the storm. It was devastating and very very frightening and I felt the fallen angel was at work. I prayed for what I felt was hours but it was a mere 20 minutes. We were spared but devastation was everywhere. And we came to find that it was not just physical damage for I knew once the announcement came. I have never felt otherwise.

There were actually issues that went back several years before Bishop Strickland was removed. Many prominent members of our diocese wrote the Nuncio about issues on the possible misuse of funds. These accusations were used as excuses to remove him BECAUSE of his backbone, standing up for life from conception to natural death and speaking out against sexual misconduct among the clergy. If he hadn't called out other priests and bishops and made them look bad, I don't think he would have been removed. We miss him! Under Bishop Strickland, Tyler diocese had more seminarians in 1 year than the entire country of Germany. That speaks volumes.

We need this deacon in our little country church…..he is amazing, my husband , a deacon ordained in 2002 had to retire because he was diagnosed with dementia, served as the parish administrator for eleven years until his health failed him! We have together served our parish for forty two years, as my position as DRE, and after my husband’s health issues, was called on by the bishop as administrator for three more years. God is Good. The diocese of Austin does not approve of ignatius press Faith and Life catechism series....yet Tyler under his excellency bishop Strickland only allowed this most excellent program! Austin director of evangelization and catechesis did and to this day does NOT ALLOW the program to be taught.

Vasquez Bishop of Austin in his June 26 2019 response to my inquiries: "...our decision to not include in our diocesan list is primarily the affordability for parishes and the advanced reading level required that could be difficult for a large majority of students enrolled in parish religious education programs." My intention was to fully fund this program in Temple Texas St Mary Catholic church... He wen on to explain he had no intention to add the Ignatian Faith and Life to the diocese approved list...at this time: June 2019! and Please keep in mind that any materials listed on the USCCB conformity list can be used as a supplementary resource but only with the permission of the pastor",,,

I think what really needs to happen is people need to retract money from diocese's and send their money to places that are actually willing to have priests, bishops speaking with power. This description of Bishop Strickland is the reason why he was cancelled by the Vatican. The bishop was too faithful to the teaching of the Church. His faithfulness no doubt offended the leaders in the Vatican (who are largely unfaithful), especially the pope! Bishop Strickland did not go around slapping the hands of laity or promoting priests who advocate for sodomy. The bishop followed the Lord Jesus Christ wholeheartedly. And that fact got him cancelled… 😮😮😮
