what i hate the most is that when people say stuff like "How could you think I cheated? i thought you were *blah blah blah* " cuz what kind of out of touch person would just mindlessly dismiss the accusations without being sure

Exactly! Especially since the OP even SAID “it’s not that I don’t believe you, I just don’t understand why my best friend would lie about that.” She answered his question before he even asked it, and he just flat out refused to listen. I get being upset, but come on now

Exactly, how many times I have seen people justify break ups with, "they should just trust each other" is crazy. Why should they just trust each other when there is proof or the info comes from a trustworthy source, at that point the burden of proof is in their court. People need to stop complaining when their partner has reason to believe they are cheating, because if those suspicions are actually founded, they should have to be the ones to disprove it at that point, it's not up to our own partner to determine if we are guilty or not, they just take the evidence with a grain of salt, and if we have anything to disprove it we give that to them.

My ex-best friend was like this. I watched her get in-between 2 other friends' relationships, she was always jealous of women who dated/married a certain type of man. At one point she accused one of our friends' mother of sending her “black magic”, becca's unhinged facebook rants remind me of that. I'm no longer friends with her because she'd send me mean, passive-aggressive gifts on my birthday lol.

Becca's behavior is beyond disturbing-it's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. It's crazy how someone’s jealousy and desperation can escalate into full-blown harassment and vandalism. I get that him saying his partner didn't trust him when someone else she trusts accuses him of something, that shouldn't warent a break up. But there is a point where being with OP posed an actual risk to him.

My theory her best friend tried hooking with her friend's boyfriend when she was drunk but he rejected and that humimilated her and hurt her ego so she decided to ruin her bestfriend's life thinking she was the reason he doesn't wanna do with her and her boyfriend broke up thinking why should i stay in this shit when i've don nothing wrong that's what her bestfriend wanted in the first place because she thaught she was between her nate and after that tried reaching nate and nate shut her up which hurt her ego even more leading to rants and vile messages on social media

Becca is a catalyst. Actually OP dodge a bullet with Nate, because every relationship will have their problems and you can't run away everytime it got hard. Even if you want to marry him, everytime people around OP makes trouble with her then he want to divorce OP instead of solving it together? That's not how a spouse or a partner should do. And Nate also dodge his bullet by breaking up with OP, because he isn't sure if Becca will be back to wreak havoc in their life again or not.

@@VynDimentionaltechnically, there was no evidence on the boyfriend’s side either so, by that logic, she should believe the friend instead (obviously she shouldn’t, but if we’re going with your logic, then it would be okay).

Did you even listen to the story? She wasn’t “angry because he talked nicely to other chicks,” she was upset that her friend said he cheated on her and she just wanted to ask him about it to see if it was true. She also didn’t even really look through his phone, because all of the messages would’ve been gone anyway. He WILLINGLY tried to pull up the messages, and agreed to get the app and recover those messages on HER phone so that she could see that he was telling the truth, which SHE DECLINED. Also, yeah, women who don’t cheat do have the right to be upset that their partner would ask for a paternity test, because it shows that they have a severe lack of trust without any reason to. This girl had reason. He was acting strange after meeting with the friend, and when she asked the friend about it, the friend said he cheated, so the OP confronted him and asked. (Obviously we know he didn’t cheat because we know how the story ends, but the way he was acting prior to the best friend trying to break them up was pretty suspicious even if, in hindsight, we know what it was actually for). She wasn’t even rude or invasive or entitled about it the way men in these stories so often are when asking for paternity tests, and she was quick to believe him. It kinda feels like you’re just grasping at straws here to find any reason to hate this girl, when there isn’t any.
