Exactly! It’s one thing to be overprotective as a parent, but carrying that into grandparenting can be quite overwhelming.

The OP's mom in law has finally learned to respect boundaries and be a better grandma as well,at least that's a good start for now.

It’s great to see progress, even if it’s just a small step. Boundaries are crucial for healthy relationships.

How is the grandmother allowed to get information from the daycare? Does that sound unlawful and fake to anyone else?

Also, if they live hours away, how did Linda run into the daycare teacher? Lame.

That does sound concerning. Daycare centers should have strict privacy policies to protect the information of the children and their families.

It’s rare, but it’s refreshing to see someone trying to improve. Hopefully, it’s a sign of positive changes to come.

It must have been incredibly difficult to stand up to your mother-in-law like that. Kudos for setting firm boundaries for the sake of your family!

The grandmother allowed to get information from the daycare. HOWWWWWW?
@Panwere363 ай бұрын
And sometimes it only takes one person to stand up, and in this case the OP did the right thing and everyone was ready for it. "Linda" is the kind of woman who proves that a real life "Marie Barone" should never be humored or tolerated. Yes, the counseling is helping, but still, there is no justification for being a "Marie".
@geraldineekhator5428Ай бұрын
They don’t mention how the daycare is breaking HiPAA laws by sharing information about the child with Linda. Linda and the daycare can be in trouble with the law and close down as well as going to prison for violating the HIPAA regulations! Linda can also be in trouble for abuse and harassment of her children and grandchild.

Two things. First, a story where everyone ends up getting along sounds too good to be true. I want this to be a true story, but it's has to be a tall tale. And two, am I the only one who finds the narrative voice attractive?

How every story there is therapy involved... In India therapy isnt something real, consider as money waste.. coz they think your neighbour or far away relative can give better advice... Wat diffrent therapist will do ?
@shells500tutubo3 ай бұрын
What a GOOD therapist can do is be objective, something that family NEVER is.
@JoeyMarx3 ай бұрын
The job of a therapist is it necessarily to only give advice. A therapist is trained to do a variety of things that can help people or individuals get through issues. The main thing is that a therapist can be objective. Things like being blinded by love or wanting to be loyal to family or wanting to give excuses because of hard situations or experiences in life do not exist in the eyes of a therapist. The idea of giving your parents a free pass to be abusive or extremely critical just because they're your parents and you have to be respectful towards them, which often people think means letting your parents always get their way, is something that doesn't exist in a therapist's mind because they have zero ties to everybody who's involved in a situation. And yes, sometimes a Faraway relative or a neighbor can provide good advice, but both of those people can still have their judgment clouded by things such as family ties and pressure from family members or just social expectations. Additionally, therapists are trained in a variety of skills to help you approach problems and resolve them. This includes things such as guiding someone to realizing that they're wrong about something without actually saying the words that they're wrong. Providing people with the opportunity to learn to think things through and see where their bias is or where their misguided. You can think of a therapist like a hint in a video game or a playthrough guide. Yes, you can always ask your friend to tell you how they beat the game, going to give you more information that will allow you to actually still put in the work to beat the game while giving you a helping hand and even provide you with information that your friend or others might not even know about what's in the game.
