This is why not telling adopted children the truth is so dangerous... i know a boy who's mother was forced into a legal closed adoption for the protection of the child, fine and dandy, that boy knew from day 1 that he was adopted all the same and his parents are currently filing to open the adoption files for his family medical history, and because he wants to understand what his mother did to be forced into a closed adoption... i ha e adopted out as well, and i have met people on the side that were never told, and the side that were told the truth... TELLING THEM THE TRUTH IS ALWAYS THE VERY BEST ANSWER!!!

I have something to ask you about it, in terms of method. Waiting a few years then telling the truth (but not lie in the meantime, just stall) ? Telling the truth from the get go but in gradual steps to remain age appropriate ?

@Darth12000 this is the EXACT process that has been used on my 2 adopted out children... so much so that when the oldest out of the 2 was 7 and I was keeping my 3rd pregnancy that she asked me why I wasn't able to keep her and her sister... the biggest thing that surprised me about the question was her age, only because I wasn't expecting her to ask before her age was double digits and nothing to do with how she was being raised... the girls both know I birthed them, but they do Not call me mom, they see me as an aunt... I told her that I simply didn't have all the support I needed in all the areas I needed it, so I made sure that she had everything she needed and deserved in this world that I knew I couldn't give her!!! I also suggest public adoption in cases where you have the option too... Adoption Options was the company I went through for both of mine!!! With my first I was allowed to choose from 7 different families (I made a list of 1-7) that I was comfortable adopting my child (they asked me questions related to religion, race, if the family has other kids, health, sexual orientation... Basically all the same options the adoptive parents are given to choose from as well... this allows them to connect adoptive families with mothers/couples that are adopting out and have as healthy of a transfer as possible... not every family is okay with adopting a disabled child, or is okay with their child being adopted by a different religious belief... this also allows them to connect families based on a desire/need for closed or open adoptions)... Anyways... the 7 files each had DETAILED descriptions of their background checks, their home checks (adopting means passing the same standards or higher than a foster home), as well as what kind of lifestyle they want to give your child... ex, one family had plans to take the child around the world before they turned 5, and to take them on various adventures every single summer!!! When I needed to adopt out my 2nd child Adoption Options was able to rush the paperwork so that both of my girls could be adopted by the same family!!! So the family that adopted my children now have 1 son through foster (also fully adopted now), and 2 daughters through at birth adoption... all 3 can see their birth parents, all 3 know the truth, and all 3 even call their bio grandparents grandma and grandpa, the amount of love and family they are surrounded by is so extensive that their family tree school projects needed to be handed in on a memory stick because a poster board simply is not big enough

This sounds like a fake story. Where is op going to school that doing a class presentation on family genetics is even that frequent of an event?? Edit: also school photos from the first five years of her life? Definitely ai writing

Idk about you but I had that project to do in HS bio class as part of a genetics lesson. Doesn't seem all that unique

If they're going to be THAT insecure about the bio mom to the point they lie about everything and try to hide the kid they have no business in adopting, let alone being parents. Especially when they told op, "after everything we did for you, this is how you treat us" then a bunch of guilt trips, manipulation and begging to let them explain when they already told and showed why they did it. They were just trying to stop op from meeting with their bio mom, which is beyond disgusting. Yeah, for the adoptive parents to cause such a scene at op's work place and the "dad" to call op an "ungrateful brat" is proof that their not sorry about what they've done only that the truth came out and are now furious that op went to meet their bio mom. People like them refuse to acknowledge that they're in the wrong and their why people left them. Not surprised that after the restraining order the adoptive parents then moved far away to start a new life without op. Because they now know that they can no longer control op. And when they can't control then they cut off and leave. Of course they're still not sorry for what they've done because with their insecurities and need to control they believe that they didn't do anything wrong despite everyone telling them otherwise. Hence part of why they moved away because no one was siding with them.

why is it that software engineer so common in all this stories it's as if AI is reusing them all the time, or maybe software engineer are curse with bad luck, or all every person have that one friend/family/lover/animal that just so happened to be software engineer

She's ungrateful she was thrown away by her biological mother and her family, she could've been in an orphanage or foster homes for 18 years then thrown out on the streets nut she had a loving parents who gave her a good live but their horrible people i guess

So them not telling her the truth that she was adopted is somehow okay ? If they told her the truth this situation would have never happened.

@brandinicole1372 Right? And it's not like bio mom wanted nothing to do with OP. The adopted parents sabotaged what could have been OPs 2nd family. If she had never found those records, she would have never known about her birth family.
