OP was NOT weak, she did the grown up thing to do. She didn't handle it like you would have, like a petty child. Grow up. She called her BIL and he handled her. It's called being the better person. And not causing drama. She's a pregnant woman, no matter how idiotic she's acting, I'm not going to do something chaotic that could induce preterm labor. And possibly her lose the baby.

If the PREGNANT sister in law thought you were close enough FAMILY to borrow your house for HER baby shower, i would have posted a NOTE on the door the day OF THE SHOWER that her shower had been MOVED to whatever OTHER address she supplied! What has your HUSBAND said about this? NOT CLOSE ENOUGH FAMILY to be invited, NOT CLOSE enough to ask her to borrow YOUR house for the shower! This will start a MAJOR family ruckus. Be sure this is the mountain you want to die on!

Being 30 has nothing to do with it. My MIL is 86 and still puts up this fake image of who she is. I figured it was building in her husband that he wanted a divorce. That was just the last straw. Don’t hate her, just stay away. She’ll never get it. The nerve of your SIL. Your home was good enough but you aren’t. She wanted to look good in your home.🤣🤣 Good riddance to bad in-laws.
