The OP and her husband are within their right to both block and go NC on her parents because their blatant favoritism to their younger daughter spoke volume in more ways than one and that can't be ignored ever plus the OP's pregnancy could have been lost thanks to what her sister did but her parents brushed it off as a harmless prank,so if they think the threat of disinheritance would make the OP change her mind about pressing charges against her sister they were totally wrong and mistaken about it and in the case of the OP she was better off giving her parents this unapologetic response:"losing my inheritance is a blessing in comparison to my child losing his/her grandparents via their actions towards his/her own mom and that's a serious consequence even the OP's parents will have to live with whether they like it or not.

Pressing full charges was the correct choice, along with the restraining order. She should never be allowed near OP and her family ever again. As for the parents, OP should seriously consider low contact at the very least, if not full no contact. Anyone who disagrees with having pressed charges and/or tries to defend the sister doesn’t need to be and doesn’t deserve to be in OP’s, her husband’s or their children’s lives. Plain and simple.

Sounds to me, like the sister needed therapy long before anything else happened, because if the parents could justify this... It bothers me that the parents didn't get therapy for their daughter when everything else happened. These parents seem like the type to just sweep every bad thing under the rug, because they care more about appearance than anything else. Good for OP and her Husband.

Yeah, that Aunt Mia is something else. Not only did she keep badgering her about pregnancy and ignored OP's request to keep the news quiet until another day, she didn't even let OP or Newton be the ones making the announcement. It seems that Aunt has some type of personality disorder. She needed to be the center of attention despite the party being given for El and making sure everyone knew first. It seems they've gotten out before there were any more antics!

Your mom is really very very wrong defending your sister cause what if the rolls were reversed if your was the one pregnant and you had pushed your sister down the stairs your parents would tell your sister to press charges against you. Already explained in the story. The nosy / busybody Aunt that doesn't know when to shut up & leave things alone , kept being pushy with a startled awake / groggy pregnant woman ( OP ) & OP was too shell shocked / in flight , fight , or freeze mode ( she was in freeze mode ) to do any thing as Aunt steamrolled the conversation & then went to go be a loud mouth / run her mouth despite OP pleas. ( Can you tell I already hate that Aunt with how she handled realizing OP was pregnant? 😂 )
