I can’t help but think that the ex-wife is the reason why her mother died, or at the very least a large part of it. Think about it, she let her mother live in such squalor for such a long period of her life, stretching on to back when she was a teenager. How could she care so little to just allow her mother to do whatever she wanted, even if it was to her detriment? Her health issues were probably worsened by the fact that she spent every day breathing in black mold and rot, sifting through rat poop and garbage just to get to bed every night. When was the last time that she even went to see a doctor?? In some ways, I feel like that inspection should have been the final chance for the MIL to be able to get healthier, but it came about far too late, and she ended up succumbing. And the ex can’t even see her hand in it, so she can only blame OP for her own actions. It’s really sad.

MIL was at fault I feel largely because her hoarding problem caused her daughter WIFEY trauma, living with a hoarder is hard and it probably made WIFEY attached and responsible for MIL.
@allthenumbers5293 ай бұрын
You can’t blame the daughter for the mother’s hoarding or the squalid conditions she lived in. Most hoarders refuse to admit they have a problem and refuse any form of help, especially if it involves throwing things away (even garbage). Hoarding is sometimes simply an issue of physical disability to maintain a home, but most often is a serious mental illness, usually accompanied by other mental conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic disorder, trauma induced psychosis, etc. Many friends and relatives have tried to clean their loved one’s hoarded home only to have all their hard work undone again by the hoarder. The daughter did plenty wrong with her mother (enabling, excusing, giving money, etc.), but she’s not at fault for her mother’s living conditions.

Ikr? He loved her so much that he would subconsciously call her wifey even as he planned on serving her divorce papers... girl was so much of an entitled karen mommy's girl that she lost out on a really good man 😢
The notion of a flawless marriage or relationship is a myth. There's no set formula for success; what works for one couple may not work for another. Yet, I've discovered that there's always a way forward, even in the most challenging times. Five years ago, my wife and I encountered significant hurdles in our marriage that nearly led to divorce. Despite the adversity, we managed to weather the storm and emerge from it with our bond renewed and revitalised

That’s beautiful but in this case is would just embolden mother in laws behavior and make wifey think she can walk all over OP without any consequences. It’s better they split bc I truly don’t think counseling would have helped since fixing wifeys enabling behavior only solves half the problem.

I agree with everything, but blaming her for him not riding a bike? That was weird lol
@HKRXPRS3 ай бұрын
She wouldn't let him get a bike since she was too lazy to ride. I can tell you're not married. How many married men have given up things they loved or drastically changed their lifestyles to suit their wife's taste? I know I have and so has every other married man I know.
@Mumbles02253 ай бұрын
@@HKRXPRS I've been married for 10 years, thanks lol did she not let him buy a bike by tying him up everyday before bringing him home from work? If you let someone control you, you have to take responsibility for your own inaction. Usually people's excuses are, "she wouldn't do it with me," which is just not a valid nor healthy excuse. My husband and I both have independent hobbies and I think that's part of what makes our relationship so healthy. We also would never walk all over each other, nor would we let the other walk over ourselves. Another complaint I hear often is that you can't afford it or don't have time tk do it because you're raising children together, don't have the extra finances, have to spend time doing home things as an adult, whatever... But that often gets blamed on the wife rather than the reality of the situation. I had to kick my own husband out of the habit of "helping me with chores" because he's not "helping me," we both own this house and we both work. But I also know dudes who give their entire paychecks, in cash, to their wives and they never see a penny of it. Insanity for the wife to ask for that and for the husband to hand it over - takes two to tango.
@HoloWolf_YT3 ай бұрын
She wouldn’t let him so now that hes is divorced he can explore his hobbies
@Mumbles02253 ай бұрын
@@HoloWolf_YT that's on him for letting go of something he wanted. People like to use others as excuses for things they just never took initiative for. If you're an adult who makes money and your family's lifestyle can afford a bike, then there's nothing stopping you except you not standing up for what you want. People also don't like to do things alone, but you can't blame someone for not wanting to do something, you just have to learn how to do the thing alone. You choose to be in a relationship, you can also choose how that relationship works.
@HoloWolf_YT3 ай бұрын
@@Mumbles0225 it isn’t that simple he would have wanted to keep his marriage healthy and good (even though that obviously didn’t happen) if that meant sacrificing a hobby he would do it. That is something that you cant buy with money
