FULL Susan Sarandon Interview On Bernie Sanders and California

Legendary actress Susan Sarandon spoke to TYT Politics Reporter Jordan Chariton (@JordanChariton) on June 2nd, 2016 in Modesto, California before speaking for Senator Bernie Sanders at a rally.
Sarandon touched on the media's derelection of duty in covering Sanders along with their bias in favor of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Sarandon also had criticism for California Senator Barbara Boxer, who became part of a firestorm in May after Sanders supporters booed her during her speech at the Nevada State Convention.

djackson006 see what you mean, but the counter argument is. Personality and opinion can exist in journalism too. It's refreshing to see objectivity, also brings an unexpected element to it, due to the quest for a laugh. I'd say it's too soon to judge too harshly. Jimmy is finding his feet. Plus his style of very objective with shits and giggles in mind, will take time to hone. Serious business, can bring out some amazingly dark humor. I'd give it time, on some topic, he's gonna nail it.

I live in a rural conservative area. To my delight I found out that in my county, about one thousand people voted for Bernie.This in a red state. That constitutes ten percent of our whole population. I live in one of the most low population areas in the country. I put my Bernie sticker on the front of my van so people could be encouraged. So let us go forth to lead the land we love, to paraphrase President Kennedy. Kudos to Susan and all those who have the guts to stand up.

Man I wish there was a way to go to the rally today to see Susan and Bernie!!!! The energy in the stadium will be palpable - woo hoo!!! Imagine 90,000 people cheering on Bernie which we have to do since the msm continually ignores Bernie's rallies. WTF is wrong with people in this country. If we end up with drumpf it just goes to prove all of Bernies points. Most celebrities are lining up behind Hillary. It takes balls/ovaries to be a public figure like Susan and support Bernie and be so vocal about it. She mentioned Time-Warner donating $1 million to Hillary. Time-Warner owns CNN. They also own Time Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, People Magazine, and a bunch of other news and entertainment outlets. Politics will play a role when Susan makes her next movie, as far as reviews and coverage from these media outlets. That's the way things work. But she doesn't care because she has a solid moral compass. Unlike Hillary Clinton, who is morally bankrupt.

Sarandon gives intelligent commentary on the candidates she doesn't like, but I always feel it's incomplete. I still don't believe she or TYT gives a good criticism of Bernie Sanders. They just kind of support him and don't turn enough of a critical light on their own views and candidates. That said, this is still far better than nearly every average Trump supporter I've ever heard from, to be completely honest. There is almost no critical thought behind the Trump supporters from what I can see. It's almost always surface issues and emotion that runs them. It's hard to have intelligent conversations in politics these days.

I think the Bernie Sanders campaign needed a Glenn Greenwald-type reporter with them throughout this past year. A smart well-known reporter with balls and integrity working independently alongside the campaign, imbedded within the campaign, to report not only on every level of corruption which has occurred at every corner against Bernie Sanders, but also to keep the corporate media in check by covering how they have 'covered', not-covered, and manipulated every inch of it. This reporter's daily articles and reports of such things (and others' contributions) on all that has happened (as it was happening), could have become a celebrated daily section delivered through the Huffington Post, the Guardian, or some such chosen outlet where it would have been expected daily. Such a vehicle would have become well-known enough in short time, and could have been a place for more consolidated coverage in one established place.This would/could have been a huge addition to the grassroots campaigning, the abundance of scattered facebook pages, blogs, youtubes, etc from all the Bernie Sanders supporters, and the few legit online outlets (Young Turks etc). I think that this (among other things that it's now too late for) could have been what made the winning difference. Hindsight sucks.Fingers still tightly crossed for the upcoming states though. People in those states, please tell any Hillary Clinton fans:"A Vote For Hillary Is A Vote For Trump"

I agree. As a Bernie supporter, having Warren in a supposedly higher position should be a good think, but my instant reaction to the idea was disappointment. I guess I felt like Hillary doesn't deserve to have a freebee of votes from the progressives. Hillary needs to change and be less corrupt on her own. At this point, Callifornia was a heart-breaking loss, and it's very likely Hillary will have the nomination. The biggest thing the American middle-class has going for them now is the #bernieorbust movement and the Bernie movement overall. Even if Hillary gets the primary, we're still fighting to force her to change her ways. Winning the primary isn't enough. I want socialized college (even though I already graduated; I give a shit about our country and the next generation,) I care about socialized medicine, I care about the lower and middle class (even though I'm upper-middle class and would likely be one of the few paying more in taxes; again I give a shit,) and I absolutely give a damn about the earth we live in. How the fk is a "Democrat" like Hillary interested in protecting the environment and yet fought to expand fracking? Even worse, how the hell do other Democrats ignore the fracking issue and think Hillary wants to fight for the environment? During the Florida debate, Hillary straight up told a college student that she's for fracking. Did not one Hillary supporter watch any debates? Anyways I should stop ranting now...
