Coach Han has a habit of relaxing his fingers before every smash (0:37). I used to do that too, it helps me relax and prepare the racket better. Can you elaborate on that?

For people who don't understand, using shorter strokes makes you less predictable and more efficient in your swing to be ready for the next shot.
@benj4840
@benj4840 3 ай бұрын
Yes, but Less power and accuracy with shorter strokes you only gain a bit of deception like you said.
@abeidiot
@abeidiot 3 ай бұрын
its not just about that. using one quick motion like a spring produces more power than pulling back and then pausing. Its the same principle as jumping. You don't jump as high by squatting and pausing vs by jumping like a spring. It is called stretch-shortening cycle of muscles. I am referring to the part of stroke before hitting, after hitting it is about deception and readiness as you mention

The frustration seems to be Coach Han have internalised unlimited different ways to swing and did not notice(wrist only, front arm and wrist only,front arm and wrist and full body.... and many more), it is what's required in real life and competition, there should be no thought in selecting the posture, but seems to be hard to communicate all them in a short coaching session. 7:49 only did a front arm swing, yet he want to teach using the torso as well. while doing the whole motion is far important then only using front arm, and emphasised in coaching, I suggest watching some katana full swing videos

@@full-swing I totally agree. I played with a shuttle to experiment this out. It's tech feather 03 by Mizuno. It's not quite there yet. But it's a step in the right direction. Would request Coach Han sir if you also get a chance please make video about it so this also gets some traction. ❣

@full-swing
@full-swing 2 ай бұрын
F=ma.

Your swing is overhead and it's not the natural way to hit any kind of smash also it's taking lotta time bcz of head overswinging. So imo it must be avoided.
