ive recently been getting back into the game after not playing for a good long while (i think just before or after they added nightmare or the cursed possesions, i dont really remember) so getting guides like this is very useful. ive really been enjoying the game, and me diving back in has led me to great channels that i didnt know about before, like this one. so thanks for the guides and keep up the good work!! I just started playing Phasmophobia and before it the only ghost hunting games I had experience with were Ghostbusters games and I thought the EMF was like a PKE meter and basically just played hot or cold with the ghost itself, had no idea it was for measuring the EMF of interactions. Great video, super helpful!

So, turns out there is actually an indicator light on the headcam, but it's only visible if you happen to play with your FOV set to something between 86-90. I play with mine at 80, so I never even saw it. Why it's not visible on FOV settings between 60-85 is beyond me 🤣🤣

@@AmberWixx i haven't played the game in a long while and didn't know about all of these changes so I recommended it to a friend and we were all excited trying to complete missions, but after failing 5 missions in a row for not getting any clue we got a bit frustrated, especially after finding out the correct ghost had clues we attempted to collect multiple times. I feel like the game changed a lot and not necessarily for the best. It was simpler but it worked.

It's happened to me too, me and my friend that are on PC and Console tried about 15 times each, he still didn't respond when he was a Poltergeist and he had it, we even did a hunt because we thought it was a Myling and he was AS QUIET AS A MYLING, we only heard the footsteps when he came close, he wasn't throwing much, so we figured it was a myling and we couldn't get EMF, it was going to be out first ever perfect game AND THEN IT WAS A POLTERGEIST

does anyone know how to open the book on controller 😪 i’m more comfortable using a controller for games, but i can’t find anything on how to place items and open them without just dropping them lmao

So I don't know if it'll change based on what controller you're using, but with my PS4 controller I was able to get the placing outline by holding down the left trigger button (L2). That showed the book being open so I could then place it where I wanted when I was close enough to the ground.

On the thermostat: exactly a reading of 0 is considered freezing. Many times you'll see the mercury mark just above 0, but you it will also mark flush with 0 and that is freezing.

They do, but it's not 90 seconds like all the other ghosts. The demon can hunt after only 60 seconds, and the spirit has to wait until 180 seconds has passed.

Made ghost hunting so much easier ^^ Been looking around and can't find an answer; maybe you know: if i trigger a cursed hunt at around 30% sanity, survive, and use pills to get back above the 50% threshold, would I be safe from a hunt if it's not one of the ghosts that can hunt above that threshold?

I’m so glad I could help! And to answer your question: you would indeed be safe again! The ghost would only be able to hunt again once you drop below its hunting threshold, unless another hunt is triggered from a cursed object.

To me when I play the game in solo, the ghost will begin starting their hunt a little bit too early cause I check the time n the activity, it reveals that the ghost has begin to make a lot disturbance n want to go on ahead do the hunt early. I play only solo cause I’m stuck on amateur mode n my plan to catch the ghost & guess it’s name was place a trap where I catch them before or after the hunt begin. I only setup four tier 1 camera in the living room to aim at the kitchen n hallway(close to the front entrance) and setup one in garage n basement(since the fuse box is only located at two place). I have to rely on two tier one crucifix to stop the hunt so I can get prove n setup more equipment and use the two motion sensor to give me a head up that the ghost are moving around n they get ready to come hunt me down alone. This is why I want few of my friend to join me n play with me so we can hav fun n level up faster n quicker so we can get the tier two equipment n tier three until later once we got tier two or three equipment, we can play solo n set the tier 2 or 3 equipment ready n set the trap for the ghost so we can take a photo, hear them speak/whisper, passed the motion sensor n d.o.t light n step on the salt. But thx for telling us about the tier 1 equipment since they are weak n worse n make all player to work their butt off to level up to get better equipment to hunt the ghost before the ghost play reverse uno card saying “we’re hunting you now since u know what we are but you ain’t gonna leave alive”

I absolutely agree! While I get it's supposed to be hard to get a response, sometimes it feels impossible and that should not be how it is, especially when these are the items given to new players. I hope they adjust it in the future!

One of the worst beginner game experiences this year - and for all the wrong reasons. • bugged multiplayer mechanics Me: “point the UV light on this object” Co-player: I just did. Me: No, this one right here.. Co-player: I’m pointing at it just now. Me: “No THIS ONE over here! Co-player: “I am pointing at it!!” Come to find out from screenshots that game coordinates don’t match up and that our characters don’t even face the same directions on either screens. I mean… really? In a game where you can only carry 3 items, one at a time (last time I checked I have two perfectly working hands), and where co-op and time management is essential for success. • bugged quest objectives that are either unfulfillable or simply fail to trigger. Literally had a ghost appear right inbetween us, EMP needle buried, everyone saw it, one got killed. Back in the truck. “EMP objective” not fulfilled. “Witness a paranormal event”, not fulfilled. “At least one team member escape…” not fulfilled. • Broken training mode. That thermometer objective… • Too few choices of ugly ass character models, badly rigged, badly animated. • My character’s drop shadow is literally a floating hand, which is so unintentionally hilarious in a ghost hunter game. • Perfectly functional homes that can only have so many lights on at the same time or fuse box blows out. I mean… cmon. In an abandoned factory or asylum, fine. But in a lived in home? In short, stupid AF game design that feels like an ill conceived homebrew project in severe need of beta testing. I’m not paying to be a beta tester - they should pay ME! I demanded a full refund, but I exceeded 2 hours trying to get complete training mode and to get full score on the first mission (Tanglewood Drive), so probably won’t get it. Having a broken a broken training mode as a time sink was a brilliant move by this hack developer. Bravo.

I have been through the training mode several times and had no issues, so not sure what's going on there. The game is early access and therefore does have quite a few bugs, but from my personal experience a lot of them just add to the charm of being a somewhat janky ghost hunting game. The game design is fantastic, as this is one of the only ghost hunting games that actually fleshed out specific ghost behavior so you can play the game in countless different ways to keep it fresh, even for someone like me who has put thousands of hours in the game. I think you mean EMF, not EMP? If the ghost spawned and killed someone, that was a hunt and not a ghost event. The EMF device glitching during a hunt does not count as an EMF signal, nor would it give you the ghost event objective. And if someone died during the hunt, the escape objective will immediately fail. So, a lot of this can just be explained by not understanding how the game works. It's okay to not like the game, it may not be for everyone, but calling the devs hacks is going too far. They have put so much time and love into this game, and many of us out here are loving the game and having a great time, all jankiness aside. 1800 hours for a game I originally paid $8 for back in the day is the best deal I have ever had on game.
