I have a 2021 Chevy 2500 duramax with the Tembrens and love it. I have the Demco Recon also and have been pulling with it for 3 years now. My previous truck was a 2015 Duramax with the air bags and prefer the Tembrens so much more. I did have to turn the base of my Demco Recon around because of the gooseball mounting on 20-22 Chevy HD's being 2" behind axle because of bed crossmember. I contacted Demco and they said that it was perfectly OK to do so. This puts my 5th wheel hitch above the axle now. Pulls great. Great videos.

I believe you said you don’t have the Chevy 2500 anymore. Any chance you recall what the payload rating was? Also did you ever go to a Cat scale to get the truck & trailer weights? Curious if you know what pin weight was with the Cedar Creek fully loaded with gear? It looks like the 2100 pound pin weight is what Forest River provided for the fifth wheel empty.
@aslife3813

Never ran it across the scale but the payload was around 3k give or take 100lbs.

Good Review. Bought a set for my F150 based on your review. Using them for help in towing our 31 foot Travel trailer.

Didi you purchase the standard duty or the Severe Service Timbern's

Standard. Severe service are for much heavier payloads. I actually remove mine when not pulling 5th wheel now

Hey Matt, when you had a bumper pull did you use a WDH? I have a 2022 Ram 2500. Just installed my Timbrens. My trailer is about 8000 lbs. Dry, 34 feet long, 900 tongue weight. Thinking about a B&W drop hitch to keep her level and trying to steer away from a WDH. Payload on truck is about 3300 lbs. Appreciate your thoughts, thank you for your video!

Thank you for the detailed review. If you had the factory overload springs, do you think you would still install the Timberens?

Prob not. If you have a 3500, your built in extra payload capacity should handle most things well on its own

Great content. I don't tow all the time. I do have a 5th wheel to tow not alot. Have a 2020 chevy 2500hd LTZ duramax but dont want to break the bank. Like your truck setup. Looking to put 35's on it. Should I do a leveling kit or run stock?
@aslife3813

I’ve seen stock fit 35’s but will depend on the tire you choose. My opinion is always go up, love level kits that include upper control arms and a full shock package

Well informed video. I’m familiar with the timbrens and have them on my Chevy as well. My question is, what kind of toolbox do you have on there and do you like it? I like the low profile work and I’m still debating on what kind to get. Thanks.

I bought it from a local store called Murdochs. It’s a Built Tough brand that also has “SEC” on the logo in the corner. It was the cheaper of the two options when I went to buy one, it’s worked well so far. No leaks, a little dirt/dust gets in but I agree, the lopro is a good look if you don’t need all that room

Great review, i just ordered them for my 2022 superduty. Did you run weight distribution with your bumper pull?

Thank you, I did have air bags with my bumper pull, but that was mostly for when we had our golf cart in the bed. Depending on your trailer set up and payload, Timbrens can get a little bouncy

I don’t have the Chevy anymore but yes I enjoyed them with the 5th wheel. Only time I didn’t like them was to win one of my gooseneck trailers when unloaded. It wouldn’t fully engage them so they would constantly slap the axel and make the ride rough

@@aslife3813I just got my 24 duramax 3500srw so I have the helper springs, I’ve been debating timbrens both front and back, I already have 35’s on stock suspension. My trailer is a triple axle with a 17k payload. Bobcat with forestry head is around 15k so with fuel and tools I’m right at 20k. How do you think they would work for my setup? By the way the new duramax is amazing it’s like a Sunday hotrod in work truck clothes😊

Good review with real life details. I've been looking at Timbrens to add to my 2022 GMC 3500HD SRW diesel, which I use to carry my 3300lb slide in camper. I had a bit of sag, so replaced the set of upper overload springs. I experience porpoising but don't want to overdo the suspension stiffness as I try to remedy this. I reached out to Timbren and they suggested the Severe Service over the SES. Did you consider the Severe Service version of Timbrens? If you did think about that model, did you say no because they would be too stiff? Thanks
@aslife3813
@aslife3813 Жыл бұрын
Unless you’re slide-in camper never leaves the bed of your truck, I would think hard about the severe service product. You already have overload springs from factory and in my opinion those would be overkill. I believe the SES like mine are rated to over 5k so that should be plenty of carrying/support help. The other option is airbags obviously 💰 💰 💰

@ASLife Thanks for the speedy response. Not sure I want overkill. I think the suspension might be my next step - first. THANKS
