You are the real deal buddy. There are many things to consider when living full time off grid. Back up heat, food storage, most important, water. Sewer set-up. A hot shower and warm house along with warm food. You proven its possible.

How's she goin'? Don your place is well established and set up. It sure looks like you did your home work before you built. Building over the well was a very smart move I think. No worries about freezing there eh. Being off grid tends to make you think you have to do without. In fact with some planning and prepping, like you have done, you can be as comfortable as if you were on grid. You have a fine set up and it's nice to see Don!! Take 'er easy!!

Right on :) Fridge freezer lights water pump internet washing machine & of course my coffee pot :) I just run 45hrs still had 10% with solar only bringing 35-50w's for 4hrs a day of course no laundry & no coffee pot while i was gone, Yes where your at if you had a AC300 then you could add 4 batteries instead of just 2, takes longer to charge but lasts a lot longer :) I love mine but still need more storage for when I'm gone,

Don love your videos I spent45 years living off grid, 40 miles from power or tar roads.can really relate to the work it takes to make it happen.please don’t become a advertising channel to many KZbin people get away from the way they got started. That said I think your the best down to earth show!
@littlegriffoffgridalberta683717 күн бұрын
Thanks I do appreciate the kind words :) It takes a lot to build a channel & KZbin Pays only a couple cents per add that most people don't watch, Between taking the time with the camara then editing watching & commenting on other channels building the video & wifi to upload time takes me about 6-8hrs per day 5 days a week, Many people start channels because they know someone that is making money off KZbin then give it up because it is a full time job without a paycheck at all for 3-8 years for most, Some of the promotions that I chose to do reviews on are very beneficial to me at the cabin, There is a lot of companies ask but I can pick things that relate to my life & off grid, Most reviews are only 5 minutes Mixed with life at the home stead but the I'm ready to put up is big for me big $$ item with great benefit to me, But also shows that this product what ever it is, is something I bought or reviewed & didn't have to pay for but things I use or will need in the future, If that make sense :) Big Items I talk about but more showing how it works for me, I feel this helps me save for other things I need at the homestead :) I require them mention my channel if they use any part of my video in their adds so the benefit is for both, Hope you appreciate my season for reviews, Thanks so much for the comment"

When I opened the video Don, Kenny's comment was there and I 'll echo what he said you're the real deal , been following you for a long while now and there's no BS you telling like it is I know you had injuries and I know you work with back troubles some days they make life tough , we have exchanged comments on that. Somedays are tough but you definitely do what you can when you're feeling good. That finger is giving you issues with getting cold, that makes it tough too but like I said in the beginning you're the real deal. It's hard work but you're making it work. Hope you have a great week my friend.

You know I have thought about it a few times & I know I didn't show the spare room my friend that was here helping me at the time was in napping, But I thought maybe I should of put the washroom in the back instead of off the living room but then my brain said no then I would have to run way longer waterlines & hot water cools in the so less is better some times :) It don't bother me if I'm a little loud on the potty & your having tea lol :) It's a cabin not a big family home, I made it two bedroom just for when kids are home or I have company, My kitchen is still in planning because I don't redo when it's done it's done !
