Great video as always Karen. I love Jim Thorpe. I have stayed at the inn several times. Oddly enough the town is divided into protestant and catholic. I struck up a conversation at a local used book store there and I asked a man about a place to eat and he then proceeded to tell me that story. I was flabbergasted and he saw my reaction, it was written all over my face. He then told us not to worry about it , that being a tourist it wouldn't make a difference.....but I never forgot that and how appalled I was. The first time I was there was about 2005 so it wasn't very long ago. Fortunately it didn't stop me from going back many times. It's beautiful and you can find plenty to do including visiting Jim Thorpe's grave. I did but there was talk about moving his remains. Don't remember why but do enjoy. It's very scenic....

9:47 Cordovan is an EQUINE leather made from the fibrous flat connective tissue (or shell) beneath the hide on the rump of the HORSE. The leather derives its name from the city of Cordoba, Spain, where it was first produced by the Visigoths in the seventh century, and later also by the Moors.

Wood western wagon almost looks like a style of Conestoga covered wagon, but not quite, because the front and back don’t slope as much. So perhaps it’s more of a common light duty type or even a covered freight wagon design from the era of western expansion. I’ve sold a few that were made into lamps.

I'm not crazy about SOME KZbinrs getting gifts for various reasons HOWEVER, Karen, you've been a true joy to follow and you're a fantastic business woman. You both are. I might pay to get online classes,but you teach us for free and your video's are so relaxing after watching my news online... btw, sterling jewelry, as i have found, is overlooked and quite valuable. I recently paid $20 for a HUGE handmade pendant that would likely sell for $250 plus. Rio Grande will buy sterling by weight no matter the condition. Anything broken or bent can be thrown in a pile and sold once a year, give or take depending on how quickly you gather it. A friend gave me her broken chains,lone earings, stuff she never wore... i made q killing a few years later. Sterling has gone up $10 in just the past few years!!!

I watched someone get creasing out of men's leather shoes, by putting a rolled up sock, or two, up in the toe area, and use a steamer on them. I'm not sure how long she left it in, but it worked beautifully. I imagine, if anyone was interested, they could Google it, or search for it on KZbin under, how to get the crease out of men's leather shoes.

Cordovan leather is made from Equine (horse) rump and is considered very good quality and is harder to make then some other leathers. It’s often used to make quality gloves, shoes and barber strops. When we lived in Italy, some butcher shops featured a horse head sign mounted outside to signify they sold Cavallo, which is horse meat. Dishes made from horse meat were not uncommon in Europe.

@@CopingwithGrattitude I guess like most things we eat, it's an acquired taste. In grew up in a small town near a fruit canning factory, so find even today that I prefer sweetened canned pears, to fresh picked. Not logical, but it was what I had as a kid. Same is true for Spam, which I still like once in a while.

@freshbloominclothing Жыл бұрын
This is her daughter. However you measure, make sure you tell your buyer that. I would go from the middle of the smallest hole to the buckle and take a photo, and then state the holes are about 1" up from the smallest. So maybe 30" for the smallest, 31", 32... up to 35".
