In this video we flip a dining set and explain how you can become a full time flipper. It's easier than you think! We also discuss the many benefits to becoming self-employed.
Full time flipping is easier than you think! It is all about finding under valued items and being able to flip a large volume of those items. We chose furniture flipping as our example in this video.
We made a $260 profit on this dining set. It only took us about 3 hours of work from purchase to sale. If you could flip 4 pieces of furniture per week at a $250 profit, that would equal over $50,000 per year...enough to replace a full time salary! Even being conservative, this would take you less than 25 hours. We have also flipped a camper before for a $950 profit in less than 48hours: • CAMPER FLIPPING USING ...
The point we are trying to make is that flipping furniture or any other item is a means to being able to quit your job and work for yourself. If you hate your job and want to spend more time with your family, there are a lot of ways to earn money! Quitting your job and working for yourself will also give you a lot more free-time to spend with your family or build other revenue streams. Having multiple streams of income is key if you are looking to become self employed. That way if one of those streams fall apart, you have others to support your family. We have been self-employed for 8 years and we wouldn't have it any other way!
Here is a link to our full furniture flipping playlist. We go into more specifics as to how to flip furniture: • Furniture Flipping

Thanks so much for watching! You can absolutely do it! We think flipping is an amazing opportunity for moms with little ones. I mean…if you earn $40k at at salary job but have to pay $20k for daycare, flipping is a great option to be able to stay home! Kids do slow down the process, though 😊😊

@@JAMIEANDSARAH we haven't tried again - sold our house that where we used to rent out our basement apartment and lost our co-hosting clients. Main problem was Airbnb gave full refunds to guests even if hosts had a strict cancellation policy in place and they kept extending it. So hosts really lost a lot of money. But I think in a scenario with an airstream - you are less likely to face problems due to unexpected disruptions like Covid-19, than someone who wants to cover a mortgage with bookings.

What are the best things to buy and resell? I always go thrifting, or look on marketplace, then get overwhelmed but not knowing what the best items to flip are?!
@lena-aline

If you want to do furniture and just use it as a hobby, dressers, dining sets, arm chairs, lamps, rugs that are easy to clean, etc. You could also do smaller kitchen appliances like vitamix blenders, thermomix etc. If you want to do it full time, I would opt for bigger more expensive items to save time and make more - couches seem to work especially well, but you might need a second person or at least pick up truck or van to help you here.
@JAMIEANDSARAH

We like doing swivel chairs the best because of their size. They can be easily transported in a hatchback and most people have a spot for them in their home. Couches are a big pain to buy and sell because of their size. Chairs seem to have the highest profit margin for us. End tables are the lowest.

Sent you this same message on IG, You can reply there if you like. First of all, my wife and I LOVE watching your videos. You guys come across so authentic and real! It's really refreshing to watch. Ok, so you guys have completely inspired us to start flipping furniture. I believe with God's help and yours we can be as successful as you guys are. Here's where we need your help. Is there a way to see how you write your descriptions on your ads? (I believe that's also part of your special sauce). We live in Central Florida so there's no competition here 😜. If there's a way that you can share your Facebook Marketplace profile? That'll be huge! Thanks in advance and may God continue to bless you and your family.

Thanks! It's pretty straightforward. We have a video about how we take photos, and that is really the most important part. Other than that we just post it on Facebook Marketplace and use buzz words like "mid-century" or "farmhouse". We will think on how we can show that in a video!

Thank you for these videos! They have inspired my best friend and I to start a furniture flipping business. We are thinking of maybe taking it a step further and creating our own accounts for this business, naming it, and possibly including brochures/tags with any items that we sell. We want to have it be a little more personal than just people selling out of their garage (even though that’s essentially what we will be doing). And perhaps create a following?? I could see some possible pros and cons. What I’m most concerned about it the potential that people won’t be as quick to buy from us if they know we are an actual business as opposed to someone trying to get rid of something as quickly as possible. What do you think of this idea? I would so appreciate your input.

Awesome! That is so cool that you guys are taking the leap! That’s exciting!!! I think it would be a good idea to build a brand(instagram, website, etc...) if you were planning on making it a full time thing. I think it would be another way for people to find you items to purchase as well as display your work. Definitely could be positive, but a lot of extra work if you aren’t super serious about it. You could always give it a try first and see how it goes! Hope this helps...good luck!!! We look forward to hearing updates from you guys!

This seems like a good side line. But just calculating the salary without factoring in any benefits like health insurance and possible contributions to a retirement plan is also an issue. You also don't get sick days, vacation days,etc. I realize that if you were an independent contractor you wouldn't have this and sadly lots of jobs don't offer benefits either.

We only sell local and haven’t offered to deliver(except one time). We would only deliver if it was really worth it financially. We try to sell small enough items that they can fit in any vehicle. Haven’t heard of the app, but we’ll look into it! Facebook is really going downhill these days! 😔

Hi it's me again. I've been checking fb market place over the last several weeks. It looks like the going tate for end table "project pieces" is about $20, I would ha e to sell for at least 50 to make a profit after painting. What are your thoughts? Tia. Sandra
@JAMIEANDSARAH
@JAMIEANDSARAH 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandra! Great question! End tables are hard to make a large profit because most people won’t pay over $100 for one. Sounds like you could definitely still make a profit, but probably not enough to make it worth your time. It would be good practice buying and selling, though! We did the end tables in one of our videos because we found a thrift store trying to get rid of them. We bought them for $1 a piece! If they are over $10 we usually don’t buy them, though
