Nope. The original RG was designed keeping in mind, the shared inner frame concept of early RG, which turned out to be one of RGs biggest design flaws. Bandai's taken everything they learned over the years, went back to the drawing board and completely redesigned this kit from the ground up, to drastically improve the quality. Lets hope they follow this up with a Zaku II 2.0. and then maybe a proper Sinanju.

I love what they have done to improve the RX-78-2 from the previews version, but what i love the most is the inner Frame that it actually has mass and it looks more like a robot and not like the traditional old inner frame. No matter how many new gundams they introduce, their is something about the RX-78-2 that brings a presences and smiles to everyone. I wish they would do something like this to Mazinger Z, that would be cool.

They already did an RG TV Wing Gundam. It was released in 2021. I highly recommend getting it. They also did an RG Epyon that was released last year. I highly recommend that one as well. Both are currently available from BBTS. I built my copy of both somewhat recently and love them.
