The flight levels may be a mix of regulations and ICAO recommendations, the ICAO semi-circular rule states that if followed VFR flights flying an eastern track should fly at Odd+500 altitudes hence 3500ft, also you must be 1000ft above the highest obstacle within 600m of the aircraft, so there may of been on obstacle higher then 500ft meaning 1500ft would be to low, so it jumped to the next odd+500 alt (in this case 3500ft)... Again, this could be what its doing but it seems a bit complex for a small program like this to filter in most Air Law regulations and recommened practises from The Chicago Convention

Hey pal. Regarding the handoff to Brussels CTR just after takeoff; that'd be pretty realistic in the US...less so at least here in the UK. But in the US, you would get handed off to a non-tower controller (appr/dep if the airport has it, CTR otherwise); you would acknowledge the handoff with something like: "Center on 123.45 for G-CL, thanks" You then have permission to move off of tower freq, which means that tower is happy that you are out of the towered control area or are no factor for any aircraft in the circuit. You'd then head over to the new controller, in this case Brussels Centre with a call that gives: location, altitude, desired altitude and navigation. It'd go something like: "Brussels Centre, TBM G-931CL is just off LFQQ climbing through 2800 for 3500, VFR to EBTY..." They would look for the transponder code on their screen (that they are expecting as tower will have handed it to them), find you, and then come back with "TBM G-931CL, radar contact, altimeter 12.34". Centre won't give you any navigation instructions -- you are VFR and don't need them. Flight service / flight following usually will just give you indications of other tracked traffic in your area, weather reports if there is nasty weather, and altimeter settings. You will never get "proceed to XYZ transition..." etc

@@TheClumsyGeekGaming It's because you have "flight following" on. If you didn't, you just squawk 1200 (US and other regions) or 7000 (Europe) once you're in the air. You will get a "leaving my airspace" call from the tower you are departing from (if it has a tower), and that's it -- you need not speak to anybody again unless you are in controlled airspace or are making calls to a common traffic channel (CTAF)...

Hi Clumsy, another great and educational video. A quick question, can you tell me how you move your eyesight around the panel within the cockpit. Do you use mouse, trackir, or some other method. The taxi clearance to adequate holding point of an active runway. Waiting clearance on apron if the traffic is not ready for an immediate VFR departure Transponder/squawk code The exit point defined by the tower controller when needed or required by regulation Altitude and speed restrictions defined by the tower controller when needed Ground traffic information when needed Local weather and/or QNH if there is no ATIS or no METAR information available. I've abandoned attempts to get Pilot2ATC running on my system, due to FSUIPC7 issues with my install of MSFS. Hopefully, after the patch......?

Not sure about those Fsuipc7 issues. It sounds like a very specific case as there are multiple others who are doing fine. You might need to troubleshoot that further, find the exact error, and report that as a bug. Easier said than done, but I wish you luck!

Unfortunately I'm staying away from the a320 and airliners for the moment. The progress is great but stability is still not at where I would prefer it due to the default plane's limitations. It makes learning the plane a lot harder as it's hard to know if it's pilot error or a real bug.

Hello Singapore Airways. Thanks for another fun flight. I am so frustrated because I finally got a cheap joystick (Logitech Extreme 3D Pro) which others are using on MSFS and which had pretty good reviews for a beginner stick for short money but the game does not recognize it. So I am back to bouncing landings using a game pad. Hopefully, I can figure out how to connect it until I can secure one of the Microsoft Airbus units which are currently out of stock. Thanks again.

I haven't tried pilot2atc so much yet in vfr. In ifr pilot2atc definitely is worth it. I suggest waiting for patch 2 of fs2020 in a few days and let's see how they improve atc. It is part of the change log for that patch.

I'm experiencing a major wallah on msfs, I have sent a ticket but so far no response. I purchased a box version of the sim's premium deluxe category but so far I can only see 23 aircraft as against the 30-something that should be the case. When the game loads and I look in my available aircraft, it shows that all versions are up to date and available yet I only see standard version aircraft. Any helpful tips, please, anyone???

I'm trying the exactly this same route from LFQQ to EBTY with pilot2ATC latest version. But the radar service will not be terminated as expected, I has been handed-off to the Brussel Center (from Lille Tower) till landing on the runway 29 of EBTY - the grass.

Hmm that's strange. You can double check that you filed a VFR flight plan, not IFR. Other than that, you can consult with Dave in the pilot2atc forums. He'll probably ask for your log file to analyze. He'll tell you where to get that from, too.

Game ATC at least has you say your intentions and movements at the uncontrolled airport, but there is no menu of messages for the same in P2A. I am thinking I have to contact the center with a filed flight plan and they will at least be ready for me when I'm airborne, but there are no ways to ask for permission to take off. Landing works better. I had a center-permitted landing at La Junta, an uncontrolled airport, but they said "goodbye" after giving me permission to land. Taxi was all on my own..... I was just hoping to see if P2A had a video on the procedures here on KZbin. BTW, thank you for getting back to me. Be safe. Cheers!

Yes, in an uncontrolled airport you get clearance from center then switch to CTAF to announce your intentions (taxi, departure, etc). Once you're airborne you switch over back to center and report in. 👍

The best advice for VFR I can give you is buy some real life charts. In the aircraft you're flying, 1:500'000 would be best I'd say. Problem is, you'll need a lot of them if you plan to fly around the world. The UK alone need 3 charts at that scale.

Yes, you can actually assign specific voices to tower, ground, etc so they never overlap. I just prefer keeping it random for most frequencies, but fixed for my copilot, so there is a chance the copilot and random voice overlap. But that's a good idea. I can actually remove the copilot's voice from the random list of voices to avoid this issue. Good catch. Thanks!

You could also just assign one voice for the co-pilot in the voices window and then put the rest of them into the random department without putting your co-pilot voice in it. This way, everything else besides your co-pilot voice should be randomized and the randoms should never be your co-pilot.

First, assign a key to hold throttle reverser. After landing, go to idle, hold key for reverser, then throttle up. Instead of throttle it will enable the reverser. Enjoy!
