Pretty sure x15 takes a ECM flash that nobody does... I got lights on my 2080lb x15 when I tried deleting and it wouldn't even run

At my previous job they got some newer wreckers with the X15 guys and I said it sounds more truck like my first job got all new Paccar junk now they are European motors I think they sound horrible make no power got issues screw em Cummins X15 ain’t too bad its new and loaded with sensors and tech and other bullshit only new engine id take. CATERPILLAR EVERYTHING CATERPILLAR IS WORTH IT. I own Kenworth long hood boahs with high powered CAT engines. I rescued a old a model with a V8 CAT turned up over 600. I hear older guys say it rated at 450HP and it put out that much 600HP. Well since this one I rescued was left to rot, once I got the power plant running again I’d say yeah they are correct thing rolled coal and pulled guzzling diesel fuel (they known for that also and it’s a V8 so…) Good stuff I’d love to post KZbin videos but since I’m out and about the shit I do I don’t got time to do the computer work I focus on many other things I’ve been asked. I just watch KZbin is all.

At the heart of it, it’s still a Signature just with one overhead cam and a higher pressure common rail and VGT and EGR. I believe they should not have the EGR or VGT and get rid of the DPF/DEF. That stuff kills your engine

@@jakebakker8224I’ve driven several deleted paccars and yes they are a mean sounding sob! Their downfall is how hot they run. Believe it or not paccars deleted run even hotter. They guy I drove for had to have the heads replaced on every single truck less than a year after the delete. He then had the fans set up to be on at all times and that pretty well killed all the power gained from the delete.

I'm running VGT delete on an ISX15 2250 600hp 2050tq. Did a cam swap and it helped the Jake a bit but still not even close to the Jake with VGT. I have noticed that if I'm not careful... she'll try to boost up to 45psi which is more than I want to see for that engine. Not sure why it's doing it...maybe the tune. I'm also running a VGT delete on an ISX15 2350 550hp 1850tq and it never overboosts....same guy tuned both.

A truck I'm driving is getting "cleaned up" now. Turbo blew up & I was blowing black smoke everywhere. No power pulling an empty trailer. The stock turbo is on back order🤦🏾♂️ & it's not cheap, either! I'll see how it runs next week. I've heard that swapping to a CM570 cam will bring the jakes back at about 90%.

They sound better once they stopped putting the dual cams in them . They put a variation of the big cam in them . That’s why they sound similar to n14s now .

The only things I wouldn’t be able to deal with is not enough engine braking power and also longevity concerns when upping the power on the x15. I’ve heard it’s a no-no because of the very high compression of these engines. We haul 159,000 here in Michigan

Yes the engine braking power loss is a bit of a problem. The tune I'm running is not a lot more power than it was stock so I'm hoping longevity won't be a problem. So far I have about 2500 hrs on this setup with no problems.

Just in my opinion diesels shouldn't have emission systems like DEF or DPF because out of every trucker that I've talked to that has had a truck like that they are in the shop 9 times out of 10 because of emission system problems

It's just an American automotive industry thing. My toyota with a 1gd-ftv has all the emission stuff required for euro 6 . & It never had a problem with emission system. About 3 years & 115k km. The engine makes 204hp which is a good power for 2.8l & 500nm tq. I have seen tuners get 300hp out of the stock engine with a new ecu map.

There has to be some way we can delete these engines to pull and run better, without sacrificing the engine brakes ability to produce 600 BHP. I'm in NYC where we're allowed 117/120k (dump trailers) and your engine brake is extremely important here.

I can deploy upgraded full emissions intact calibrations that will save $20k-$30k per truck per year, for the ISX15 (2013-16) and X15 (2017-22) platforms. I've had over 1 mil miles testing... They increase 400+ lbs ft of torque, improve drivability and driver efficiency and productivity (40+ min per day). You can pull Eisenhower, with 80k lbs, at 40 mph with CC on.

In Europe its illegal to have a straight pipe exhaust so we have to do it secret with a valve system in the exhaust, do you run into problems with police having a new truck without DEF on?

Dude, that's not a VGT delete, it's a DPR delete VGT is the little electronic controller on the turbocharger, it stands for Variable Geometry Turbocharger

That depends a lot on what kind of ground I'm on and how heavy I'm loaded. Big load soft ground probably 1900-2000 before I upshift because it shows down so quick in between. Flat ground or empty maybe 1600-1700 if I'm splitting.

Vgt delete? Why would u delete variable geometry turbo?

No… in the beginning of the video he showed the exhaust to show the DEF was deleted not the turbo.

@@crandonborth the title says vgt delete. Anyways i realised it's the scr egr def delete. Basically a straight pipe from the turbo but his title says "vgt delete" which means he removed the variable geometry turbo and replaced it with a regular turbo.

There is one video with the hood open and a walk around of the engine. But I will do another one here one of these days.
