If the columns are the only thing that support the weight, then yeah they are not big enough. But if look closely, the outer walls are built with 2 layers of bricks. So the columms + the outer walls are more than enough to support the second floor.

Nhà này làm cái móng hết hồn. Theo kết cấu này làm móng đơn là dư chịu tải trọng rồi đằng này lại làm móng băng. Để chi phí đó cho những hạng mục khác thì tốt hơn. Tầng 2 lợp mái tole khoảng cách giữa sàn tầng 2 và mái tole quá thấp sẽ không sử dụng hết diện tích tầng 2 và rất nóng. Đây là cách làm nhà theo thói quen không có thiết kế từ những người có chuyên môn nên lãng phí nhiều chi phí không đáng có. Góp ý nhỏ cho những ai chuẩn bị xây nhà.

In my country a house with such a plan cannot be build without $50-100K. And that's at the "red level", meaning no commodities installed (interior / exterior design and finishes)! Also in my country the wall have to be insulated (for cold (last few nights we had -18 deg C), moisture and heavy sunny (summers we have above 40 deg C) ) Think about that! Also, I don't think the house in the video will stand after a 10sec 5.5 quake, and let's not even think at a 6.5 and above. The foundation is too shallow for a two levels building, and the columns are too thin... These are my opinions as a non professional in the construction field, but that's why here we have independent inspectors, accredited and licensed construction companies. If I was to build such a house, I would get such a company and a few independent inspectors. And that's above what the architects, the state and goverment requirements. I wouldn't wanna save a few thousand dollars just to not be sure if the house will fall and kill me and my family in a 3.5 quake... you know? Sure if you just want a summer/winter retreat for a few days ... that's another discuttion. Yet, rules and construction laws also apply. On other notices, where are the water/waste/electrical pipes for the first and second floor? Also, I guess that in your country, you guys don't need heating/cooling? What about moisture/condensation control? Hydroisolation? What happens when in rains sideways on the walls for hours and hours? I like you are hard working and skilled at what you do! Very hard manual labor and your team is professional, but I wouldn't trust such a house... I respect and commend your team's skill and hard labour!

Không có chừa ống thoát nước mưa tạc chỗ mái hiên , không có chờ sẵn 1 viên gạch để nguồn điện lên tầng trên, không chừa sẵn 1 đường ống để thoát nước bồn rửa chén trong nhà. Sây nhà rộng thì rộng thật nhưng thiết kế còn thô sơ quá . Nên kết hợp cùng thợ điện nước đi sẵn nhiều thứ sẽ khiến căn nhà hiện đại hơn . Chứ say xong tô lót men rồi đi âm cũng không tốn kém khá nhiều, đi nổi nhìn không gọn gàng. Tóm tắc: sây và mẫu nhà đạt, thiết kế thiếu nhiều chỗ cần khắc phục về sinh hoạt.

Most people haven't a clue how HEAVY the CONCRET is...There are LOTS of VIDS out there where the supports collapse from the weight. USA we need to use steel corrugated metal under the concrete floor or roof. If anyone noticed that the man on the roof is barefoot its because most shoes are way to slippery to walk on it. The ROUGH face of the brick work is actually better for the final coat. It gives the coating more to stick to. The mix for the final touches have a finer sand and concrete. MAYBE just the SHELL is $20,000???

Lots of rebar can carry the slab. 30mm rebar 250mm apart is enough for a solid flooring slab.
