Let me tell you why this was the BEST half time show: - it honoured the legacy/mastery of Dre in the best way through the transition of all the songs and with him starting/ending the show - the Tupac instrumental piano tribute was simple but beautiful (no tacky hologram) - using REAL instruments shows how hip hop live absolutely SLAPS - having the shared set and the camera choreography lining up with the dancing and song transitions made the audience at home feel like they were RIGHT there, and lastly: - it showed that rap/hip hop lyrics, flow, dancing and beats/instrumentals are ENOUGH to headline AND elevate entertainment without nip slips/twerking/lip syncing and previous controversies. It was the most PG thing I've seen at the superbowl in a long time, even the club dancing with 50! Just showing off the pure music, the timelessness of the beats, the fusion with live instruments with the beats, the professionalism with everyone live rapping/playing yet it was all one cohesive piece to show we are altogether. Beautiful.

If you follow his growth and progression thru his albums … he indeed goes through recovery, redemption, relapse, love, forgiveness … if you asked the old Em from 1999 if he would one day be apologizing on album to Kim and to his mom, and publicly forgiving them, he would have said “you f’ing crazy” but listen to his albums in order and it is truly a legendary transformation and learning experience to us all. He made a difference in so many lives. And he showed it is possible to break the cycle of dysfunction and the ancestral generational curse … look at his 3 girls he raised… amazing father whose children are not like any of the children of famous celebrities … so proud of Marshall and thankful for his contributions to the culture, and to humanity.

I’ve been an em fan since first grade when Real Slim Shady came out. He became my new favorite rapper bc the only other rappers I knew were missy elliot and busts rhymes. And when he got sober and made a comeback I was definitely really proud of him and proud to be a fan and it’s good to see he’s still doing well and aging gracefully, I do feel sorry that he suffers from the condition known as Caucasian, it’s really unfortunate, but I like to think hes a Jake at heart.
