Full video of curiosity landing on Mars.
Watch all 22 minutes of this successful landing, including the "seven minutes of terror" and the celebration afterward.
Full video of curiosity landing on Mars. Brought to you by LoveShift.com.
• Curiosity comprised 23 percent of the mass of the 3,893 kg (8,583 lb) Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) spacecraft, which had the sole mission of delivering the rover safely across space from Earth to a soft landing on the surface of Mars.
• Curiosity is a car-sized robotic rover exploring Gale Crater on Mars as part of NASA's Mars Science Laboratory mission (MSL).
• Curiosity's design will serve as the basis for a planned Mars 2020 rover mission.
• Curiosity was launched from Cape Canaveral on November 26, 2011, at 10:02 EST aboard the MSL spacecraft and landed on Aeolis Palus in Gale Crater on Mars on August 6, 2012, 05:17 UTC.

@governmentcontractor765

+Christopher Jones marijuana may cure some ailments but I believe it is abused in the medical field. I believe people that are dying from cancer, AIDS, or they are going through chemo should be prescribed the cannabis oil. Other than that, I think it should be illegal. THC destroys brain cells, therefore marijuana should be illegal for recreational use. I'm also confused by your comment stating that marijuana is apart of California's history, wtf are you talking about?

I think this landing of Curiosity was more exiting than that of Perseverance. The team looked more excited and hyped up. This may have to do with the fact that it's the first time the Skycrane EDL was tried. And also maybe they are told to limit their movements due to the ongoing pandemic. Either way both landing were great to watch.

@@austinbarnard7688 spacex is nowhere near to be able to land a spaceship back on land without any explosion. Not a single million dollar budget test has been successful so far. It will take more than a century or at least a half to be able to have a succesful landing considering how long it takes to change a model from the scratch and avoid the same mistakes. Another half century for people to consider sending astronauts to mars. It's extremely dangerous and there is no way telling that these people will be able to come back or manage the high levels of carbon dioxide for a long time. This means that more spaceships will have to land around the same time to have more help and tools to build a solid place to live safely there. All we can do for now is send more robots and rovers like Curiosity.

Great people are there for sure, but guys and girls, please remember all the people behind the scenes that made all of this technology happen. The mission controllers are amazing at their job and are clearly a highly intelligent, passional group, but think of all the people who designed instruments on Curiosity, or the software engineers who pioneered the systems in use by NASA. Many, many people have contributed. This was a beautiful and magnificent achievement for all involved.

A man is walking on the moon with his eyes turned up toward space And the bright blue world that watches him reflected on his face. The whole world sees the hero there and the module crew also. But few can see the guiding team that guards him from below. Step by step the longest march can be won, can be won. Many stones can form an arch, singly none, singly none. And together what we will can be accomplished still, Many drops can turn a mill, singly none, singly none. Here's a health to the man who walked the moon, and the module crew above, And the team that watches from the sky with worry, joy, and love. To all who blazed the sky-trail come raise your glasses 'round; And a health to the unknown heroes, too, who never left the ground. Step by step the longest march can be won, can be won. Many stones can form an arch, singly none, singly none. And together what we will can be accomplished still, Many drops can turn a mill, singly none, singly none. Here's a health to the ship's designers, and the welders of her seams, And all who man the radar-scan to watch our dawning dreams. For all the unknown heroes, sing out to every shore: "What makes one step a giant leap is all the steps before!" Step by step the longest march can be won, can be won. Many stones can form an arch, singly none, singly none. And together what we will can be accomplished still, Many drops can turn a mill, singly none, singly none.

+Lackesse This was my reply to another one of you tinfoil hat dipshits: "What you are experiencing is what's called "Selective belief"-basically you believe only what you WANT TO believe. You WANT TO believe NASA can't accomplish anything when in reality, they have accomplished more than any other person, organization or agency in the entire world. Look up "Occam's razor". Basically, it's much easier to assume that the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of photos and all their HUNDREDS of missions sparked by the 1950s Space Race are real, and that the THOUSANDS of people working for NASA aren't faking anything as well as great worldwide media coverage for the entire world to see . There is currently 0 disproving evidence that they do so, but A TON of third-party evidence that they do. You have a belief that's fuelled by lies that aren't there, bad research and an incredibly selective way of thinking."

Nice. I'd say you're the reason people can't wake up. And what's progress? The destruction of every ecosystem on Earth? People's faces stuck to cell phones 18 hours a day? Banks controlling nations? Yeah, progress... Open your eyes albertrll.

Why does everything space-related always bring out the conspiracy idiots? What's that smell? Kind of smells like... jealousy? Perhaps because they'll never be one of the great minds that make things like this happen. In all likelihood, neither will I. But I admire, rather than deny, brilliance.

Still incredible to think about the fact that Curiosity had been landed for a few minutes before we got the word due to the vast distance the signals had to travel. Knowing that the fate had already been sealed must have been nerve wracking.
