@mrAhollandjr TLR was a hot commodity the first time he was hired, and there were several managers with managing experience between him and Lamont. And let's not pretend TLR, Lamont or Guillen were bad hires. This is such a reach in you claiming Reinsdorf is cheap. There are much better examples than his history of manager hires.

@joeraguso5376 all I said was hiring first time managers was a White Sox tradition. But in fairness, the Sox aren't the only Chicago team that consistently does it. The Bears also gave done it including Mike Ditka, Dave Wannestedt, Dick Jaron, Lovie Smith. Marc Tristan, Matt Nagy, and Matt Eberflus. The Bulls have done it as well though they also have hired experienced head coaches as well. Ditto for the Cubs. Yes Ozzie and Ditka and Phil Jackson won championships but let's not pretend that being cheap wasn't part of the equation. Yes proven coaches had to be a first time coach at some point but the Sox and Bears consistently hire first timers. That's FACT.
