Wow.... this is the closest hair I have seen to my hair type. I have very very fine strands and the type they consider 4B (very cottony and shrinks about 75% of its length). As a result of the hair type it can break very easily. My suggestion from years of caring for my own hair is to be very careful in detangling, do not practice detangling on very dry hair and keep the hair stretched wherever you can such as in big sections in twist as opposed to letting it afro on itself. I am approx two weeks away from one year locked and have battled with seborrheic dermatitis practically my whole life. Great video, thanks for being transparent.

Yeah, without a moisturizing routine the hair will break easily. I'm not sure whether you do lose more, less or the same amount of hair when detangling wet or dry; that's something I will have to be mindful of observing. Oh no, I never let my hair dry in an afro or sleep with it in an afro state. My hair is always in twists and sectioned in 4 parts. I'm pretty sure you can prevent the continuation of seborrheic dermatitis with a consistent external and internal routine

See, your hair is quite long. The shea moisture products made your curls pop and I detected a shine after you use the conditioner. I prefer misting my hair with a little bit of water before detangling yet and then applying a prepoo. Sometimes if it's still moisturize I don't want to missed it with water so I just gently comb through on dry hair and I don't have to add any more oil or anything, but I've got to get the shed hair out. I only saw one of the person who uses the 3-minute conditioner and then the deep conditioner after that is rinsed out and I started trying that recently, and it seems to make a difference for the better for me. Can't wait to see your length check! Hope you had a great Easter if you celebrate Easter.

It is right! Someone else suggested wetting my hair before detangling; I will try that to see if that make a difference. No, I don't celebrate Easter but generally we had a good day. Hope your day was pleasant 😊

@@kieshaarielle spritzing the hair with water, warm water for me since I'm low porosity, made a big difference on those times when I need to moisturize and I detangle first.

I spent 8 days combing mine out and there was so much build up from the retwist gel I was using, washed my hair today and trimmed it but my curls aren’t back I’m gonna deep condish and protein treat it but the feeling of my hair being squeaky clean was sooooo good 😫 where abouts are you from? Your accent reminds me a little bit of a relatives, she’s from Jamaica but has a slight British accent from being here for a few years

I agree. After combing out your locs it can feel so weak and limp. But after a while it will return to feeling normal. Yes, I am Jamaican and have been living here (UK) for a while lol

That's the thing, I want to get locs, but I love my hair to be thoroughly clean, otherwise it's going to irritate me, but do you think I should still get locs?, Maybe I should just wear braids, but I hate wearing fake hair though, When you had locs and washed it , did your hair and scalp feel clean or did it feel (a bit) dirty? And do you think you're hair feels cleaner when it's loose vs locked.

It must felt great to wash your hair properly after combing out the locs. When you wash your locs, did it feel like your hair was getting thoroughly cleansed or does it feel more cleanse when you have loose hair? people keep telling me I should get locs, but I need to thoroughly cleanse my hair, I want all that stuff out, I love clean hair, period....plus locs are prone to build up , and lint.
