Amazing!!! That even this very overloaded load it had turnover and pull those towels down plus it was able to do the first spin Eugene. I think you should keep this machine they just don’t make them like that anymore. It refuses to die and it looks like it’s in really good shape. Definitely shames many new machines.
@imperiallebaron23915 жыл бұрын
Considering this machine is nothing more than a White-Westinghouse withers a Frigidaire control console, the turnover would be even better with the ramp style agitator Westinghouse used for years.

We had one of these in the 90s and it never failed us, when it did it was an easy fix. The only problem we had with it was the timer went bad and the belt needed replaced after about 8 years. Still far better than the crap they’re making now.

You were actually considering dumping this washer?? You've got to be kidding me. This machine is not calling it quits at all. This is a keeper. They don't make them like this anymore.

It looks cool I know it would have way better rollover if it had a tub brake

See even overloaded this machine still had turn over action!!! try doing that to one of these new HE machines and see what you'll get??? You'll be lucky if they even get wet LOL!!! Great Video Eugene!!!

This machine looks like it’s from the 80’s given the look of the console. My friend had this washer growing up and I would always check it out when I go over to his house. His mom would always overload the washer like this! 😂

Hey, what do you think of Miele washers and dryers that are made in Germany? I started using Persil liquid laundry detergent and it works great!
@StrongEnough786 жыл бұрын
Just think of it as like a 10 second neutral drain. Once it started spinning she ramped up no problem. She just needs a little tlc. I'd hate to see her scrapped.

Did you notice the build tag said Made For Frigidaire not by?

Because Frigidaire was a division of White Consolidated Industries at that time, they weren't really their own company.

When it was new it was already condemned! Lol lol sorry for the snarky comment but unless you sold them and had to fix multitudes of these worthless piles under warranty, then only you will know the truth they were junk box’s at the factory!
@johnalbanese30 Жыл бұрын
Channel 123 do you have anything good to say about any washer? All your comments are negative! I sold many Westinghouse, and Fridgaire washers,never had a complaint. Do you actually own one? If that's is your apinion fine, but these machines are a heck better then some of the HE. machines out there now. I owned a Westinghouse front loader for 26 years. My wife's aunt owned a Westinghouse top loader fo 22 years, never gave us a problem, just normal maintenance.
@OckGypsy5 жыл бұрын
Why did you throw away?
@DC-gi3vh6 жыл бұрын
The basis of this machines design goes back to Westinghouse of the 1960's, they made their top loaders with the tub that turned as the machine agitated. If the tub didn't turn as it does, I think the turnover would be much better, I think that this machine should be sold or dumped as it really doesn't turn over the load of clothes in this test. If the machine wasn't overloaded, it still would not turn over the laundry well.
@Channel-cm7yc4 жыл бұрын
Not in this era sorry it was a heaping pile of crap! Was built cheaply by WCI!
@williamslater-o5b10 ай бұрын
If it wasn't overloaded and had the Westinghouse ramp agitator from the 60s, the rollover would be excellent.

@@Channel-cm7yc Weird cause WCI made great ac units, especially in the 90s and early 2000s.

The fact that it still turns them over though. They're getting clean. You don't have to have roll over 500 times a minute for a clean laundry.

So what are you saying. That your not that good. It's a cool vintage washer. Put a new LOWER bearing in it. I know it has to be pressed in DO IT. Unless your Just not good enough
@Channel-cm7yc4 жыл бұрын
It was a horrible machine. They did this crap when they were less than a year old or out the box and were horribly unreliable. As far as wash action they were very bad compared to anything else on the market at the time and matching dryers were equally prone to mechanical failures. You might think this great now with all the HE stuff that’s bad today. But at the time you’d have been better off in buying anything else on the market from GE, Whirlpool, Maytag just anything!! Complete transmission failure here. How it made it this far is eluding me! You will not see any on the used market today! I refused under protest to push the WCI Frigidaire laundry line in sales pitches at the time and we ultimately dropped the Frigidaire line from our product lineup by 1994. It was a cost cutting to the max. Ruined a very high quality appliance manufacturing name which was essentially gone when GM sold their appliance division off in 1979. Which GM started by cheapening up their then Unimatic based machines because they were just to expensive to build the way they once were. So those machines in performance had declined badly by 1979. I know all who watch these channels love washers as I do, but if you weren’t around or haven’t got a clue as to what was going on in those times it was bad era of transition even older designs using cheaper lighter parts to save money. I will tell you the days of old machines today had their issues too, but this one was a total turd and nothing to be revered at all here in regards to doing a restoration or collectible value! I’m glad it was dumped, it disappointed many who bought them new!
@MicklowFilms3 ай бұрын
There’s still a ton of these out there. We had a set of these Frigidaire washer and dryers in the 90s. Never had a problem other than normal wear and tear. Had to replace a belt and the timer after 8 years. That’s not bad at all.
