The spin drain is reference to the older frigidaires. Nice touch.

Love the fact that this machine also spray rinses during both spins

Those socks looked pretty good for using no bleach. Not a bad washer. This agitator was probably the most effective one WCI used other than the Westinghouse ramp style in these indexing tub machines.

Yes very Speed Queen like, the way it agitates. These Frigidaires from the 90s were work horses. We had one and it never let us down. Frigidaire actually still makes this design washing machine in their stacked units.

Good strong agitation there. Just saw a White Westinghouse version of this with a different agitator but I believe the same transmission drive on one of the selling sites here like Letgo or Offer Up. People still have some of these vintage oldies for sale amazing they’ve lasted this long and are still working.

Eugene it seems the more you use this machine the quicker it seems to be engaging the proper spin. Maybe it was just stiff when you first got it from lack of use?

For gym socks, you start with c old water then, the water is heated slowly to realease protein bases stains. Thats why horizontal axis machines achieve better results. German toploaders had built in heaters at one point. German machines are better. Die Deustch waschmachinnen isch besser. Gut gesundhiet und aufwiderschen.

How clean can clothes get ? When I don't see the stain anymore I know the detergent and wash action did the job. Front loaders in the US need a heater with the little puddle of water they use. For the most part though I use a good detergent and the correct cycle without the heater and get the results I expect to see. I only use sanitize on bedding and my whites.

This is an example of what happens on spin-drain toploaders when too much water is used for the size of the load. Floating items get pushed together during spin acceleration which makes spin more off-balance than neutral-drain machines which have the load settle to the bottom of the drum before spin starts.
@JeffreyHatch69 Жыл бұрын
Sediment and filthy water are sitting above the load that rest in the bottom of the tub. As the machine drains all that is actually being filtered through the clothes to get to the pump. My own feelings are that it's just redeposits dirt and residue that otherwise would be spun up and out over the top of the load.
@patcola7335 Жыл бұрын
@@JeffreyHatch69 A spin drain model is also getting that filthy water pressed through the clothes. Not to mention a lot of those spin drain washers (Maytag&GE) threw the water back over the clothes as it was spinning leaving lint on the clothes.

My mom had a White Westinghouse washer back in the days with the same exact mechanisms as this washer. Unfortunately my father got rid of it and bought an LG Inverter Direct Drive washer.

The reliability of these Frigidaires was horrible.
@MicklowFilms4 жыл бұрын
We had one of these in the 90s that lasted many years with no issues, and when something did break it was easy to fix. Keep in mind this machine has more moving parts with an indexing wash basket, which other machines of that time didn’t have. So there’s more moving parts to wear and break down. Still far better than some of the cheap made in China garbage machines being made today with all these fancy electronics and gadgetry.

@@Sharkie626 I still have one as of 2/22/22. I got it late 1990s or early 2000s from someone after my washer died. AFAIK the previous owner had them for a few years before me. Its at least 20 years old, probably older. Think youd be hard pressed to find any appliance thar lasts that long anymore.

It looks to be around 600 RPM . Slowing down a bit during the spray rinse. For reference a Whirlpool DD machine spins at 640 RPM.
