These videos you are making of this washer is the first time I've seen this style Frigidaire washer run without being seriously overloaded. Any videos I've seen on You Tube of either a stand alone washer or a laundry center have been so full that there was really no turnover. Your videos are the first that really show how well these washers worked when loaded properly.

I like this washer in that it was different from the rest with that fast indexing tub. It’s like a front loader and top loader in one.

I'm surprised how good the turnover is given how much and fast the tub indexes. That 5 vane agitator was actually pretty good in these machines. I think even CU said so in one of their publications in the 90's

Yes it was a good washer back in it's day, I did many heavy loads in mine and never had a problem with it not even an out of balance load... I wouldn't even mind having another one right now!!! Great video Eugene!!!

We had a White-Westinghouse washing machine that started doing the same thing as this machine. It sounded very similar to this one when it ran. It was fifteen years old at the time it started displaying the problem this one has. We acquired it new in 1993.

The part neutral drains and spin is like the NORGE WASHERS AND MONTGOMERY WARDS WASHERS made by NORGE.

All the new top loading washers have a neutral drain. Only the Speed Queen TC 5000Series has a spin-drains.

Eugene it’s acting like a vintage Norge washer they would partially drain then start spinning. It spins for quite a while even with the slow start. Are you condemning it because it’s just going to get worse?

The machine I had with this same control panel but different model had a locking lid. The way it worked was there was a (eye) attached to the lid and a finger attached to a servo motor I guess would go into the eye to (lock) the lid but it could be bypassed with a screw driver pressing the lid switch in as long as it was out of the way of the finger the machine would run with the lid open.

@@LorainFurnitureandAppliance mine was probably a earlier or later model cause I wanna say the agitator was similar to part number 5308002424. It might have suffered a bad spin bearing also as it had a Burning rubber smell and the tech was like, I would start looking for another washer.

Meh... the Norge based AKA Maycor built Magic Chiefs Norge & Admirals of this era ate these up for lunch in terms performance and reliability. Not our greatest selling brand of washer at the time, they were plagued with to many issues. I would actually steer customers away from these at the time to the competitor at the same price points just to save the call back hassles and transmission repairs or replacements and the matching dryers equally as horrible. These WCI’s aren’t anything to revere! The 1960’s days of GM Frigidaire were the best, but in the late 1970’s not so much as things had to be cheapened up by then.

The difference is now these are better than anything other than Speed Queen today. I was in my early to mid twenties when these came out and remember how cheap I thought they looked but compared to what's on the market now ? I would take this if this was on a sales floor today.

We bought this washer in 97 with the matching dryer. Never had any issues with it other than the timer going bad and belt needing replaced after about 8 years. Had a plastic tub and looked cheap but it got the job done. Still had the old Westinghouse motor and transmission.
