She's so adorable. I love how you're teaching them to love their natural hair. Growing up I didn't have this knowledge and neither did my parents. Which is how many of us ended up with a perm 🤦🏾‍♀️. I'm happy to say I haven't had a perm since 2007 and I have no regrets. I love your channel and content ❤️

Our mom always styled my sisters and I hair in puff balls after wash day too when we were younger. She either flat twisted then put the rest of our hair in a puff, gave us 1 or 2 or 3 puffs, braided then put the rest of our hair in a puff. 😁

Hi! You mentioned that you wash her hair every 2-3 weeks? And moisturise it twice day? I am totally new in doing a child's afro hair (or any afro), we have a new family member, and need to start taking care of her hair.. How and with what do you moisture her hair daily? And when you style her hair, does she have that hairstyle for many days, or do you make her hair daily? And apologies, if I misunderstood something already :)

Hey, so I mainly use the Aunt Jackies Instant Detangling therapy (which is actually a detangling product), but I use it for moisturising her hair which I find really good. As for her hairstyles, yes I’ll keep the same style for a week or 2 (depending on how long it lasts) or sometimes I’ll redo the style if it gets messy before washing again. But I never do it daily. Hope that makes sense 😊

A question 🙋‍♀️. In the toddler wash routine you were using Cantù shampoo and conditioner. Which products would you recommend for a range between 3a to 4c hair? Thanks
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 2 жыл бұрын
No, I was using Aunt Jackie’s Girls range and you can give that a try if you like, as both my daughters have varying curl patterns and it works well for them.

Hi, have you ever tried to skip the conditioner and only use the moisturizer/leave-in conditioner instead as they have the same purpose? That's what I did for my nieces. Same result but way less time consuming. Children's hair are very healthy as long as the kid is healthy and we don't do anything to damage it, so their hair don't need as much as adults. I saw another mum on KZbin doing the same for her daughters.
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 2 жыл бұрын
Hey, I’ve only ever skipped it when they were very small babies, bcos it wasn’t necessary at such a small age. But yes, it wouldn’t do no harm using a leave-in conditioner if that works for some. But an extra 10 mins really isn’t that long, so I don’t mind and also, I just prefer to use an actual conditioning product. But thanks for mentioning it!

This is lovely, question does your daughter stays in the bath while the conditioner is on? I am struggling to find where to wash my baby girls hair as she likes to go off and so her own thing while conditioner is in.
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! ☺️ Yes, she stays in the bath the whole time even when conditioning. Maybe give her something to do in the meantime. For example; I always let Ava empty out the bath water and refill it again (cos it gets dirty from washing her hair) so maybe try that to keep her occupied for a while.

M Daughter's hair in the nape area is extremely thick tightly coiled, almost matted like. Any tips on detangling that area to not cause her discomfort? Thank you in advance.
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 2 жыл бұрын
Sure, add some water to her hair first, followed by a moisturiser or detangling product, and then some oil for extra slip and that should help. Don’t forget to section her hair beforehand.

Hello!! At what age do you usually start dealing with your child's hair? Mine is just 3 months old
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 2 жыл бұрын
Hey, between 0-6mths I was just using water and olive/coconut oil. Then eventually I started incorporating mild shampoos for kids. Then around 1-2 years I introduced conditioners.

@@HealthyAfroHair thanks so much💖, so btn 0-6mnths do you have to hold any small puffs or it's simply only combing and using water and coconut/olive oil??

@@miriamnyanda9362 No worries! They didn’t have much hair at that age, so there was no styling involved.
