Neglecting the diode voltage drop,determine the current waveform, mean load voltage, and the mean load current for a load of a. Pure resistor of 10 Ohm b. In calculating Vdc or Idc , why we're taking time period from 0-π instead of taking 0-2π as we do it in half wave rectifier? Your videos are nice and easy.
@davidgriffin795 жыл бұрын
It's the area under the curve for a half-wave rectifier one half cycle is removed so pi to 2pi is just a gap. However the average voltage will include that gap.

in previous lecture you have explained significance of rms value i.e. it is equivalent to dc value. but here you have told that average value is dc value. kindly explain this.

Yeah..I was wondering the same thing
@Justchilllllla4 жыл бұрын
@@Tarun_Kotagiri Brthr,You are confusing with the DC current and The "DC component" in total output current. In the rectified total output current,there are two components AC as well as DC like this I= I(AC) + I(DC). Now I(AC) does not contribute in average value because Average value of AC current over whole time period is zero,Hence it's the DC component only which contributes in the average value of rectified current... So in case if rectifier we can write I(AVG) = I(DC). Also I'm still learning,so the above explanation might be wrong please please correct me if you have better explanation,I'll be thankful to you...

you integerated from 0 to 2.pi in case of half wave rectifier but 0 to pi in full wave... why so..?
@hichembenamara47107 жыл бұрын
i think because the periode here is pi while in half wave rectifier we had a periode of 2pi
@Amrhossam967 жыл бұрын
let me explain the Average is Vavg=1/2Pi Integration from 0 to 2Pi Vm Sin Omega T but as you see in this case the function is even harmonic which repeats it self 2 times in the period so you can integrate half the period which is 0 to PI and multiply that by 2 this 2 will cancel out with the 2 in the denominator and it'll become as it's written message me if you still don't understand

it can be integrated to 0 to 2pi but we have to divide by 2pi instead of pi. Btw gives same answer
