Typically, why people say anime openings are spoilers is because they have the context of what is being shown, you can see at what is being hinted at and get the full picture. But first-time watchers typically don't and can't know the full context of what they're seeing. In my experience saying the openings have spoilers, and even trying to tell people where to not look, is more likely to spoil people then just leaving them be.
@cmdrDiscoCat6 ай бұрын
Plus, 95% of the time, stuff shown in openings simply never happens in the actual anime. So it's a mix of "you don't have the context to understand this" and "maybe this will happen ? Who knows !"
@lewstherintelamon2446 ай бұрын
I'd say that some openings are a lot worse than others when it comes to spoilers. I don't think that any of the Brotherhood OPs are anything to worry about, but some One Piece openings will spoil plot twists far in advance of the actual story.
@mamaloyomo6 ай бұрын
I think the problematic openings are the ones that show that show changes due to plot, like the Jojo ones cause when you see them one after the other and see the changes, it kind of spoils the reveal of the character or whatnot since you are already expecting it from the opening.
@transientanus6 ай бұрын
That's not true. Anyone with half a brain can piece together the story based on the openings. For example, I knew about Gon's transformation or Ichigo's double zanpakuto because the opening hints at them hard.

Exactly, it shouldn't need to be explained but they're just teasers.

You have officially fallen into the trap of the greatest gateway anime of all time. The endings always seem to sneak up on you, especially this one.
@snarflcat61876 ай бұрын
I won’t disagree except to point out a few more “perfect gateway animes”: Cowboy Bebop ( that was mine ) GITS 2nd Gig ( if one is SF or cyberpunk minded ) One Punch Man ( if one is looking more for comedy ) Black Clover ( for those more into S&S )
@kayden21196 ай бұрын
@@snarflcat6187 Honestly I would not consider any of those gateway anime, like I would not recommend any of those to someone who has not watched anime before. Obviously any anime can be someone's first anime and it will probably be ok and plenty of anime are good for that but to be a gateway anime I think it needs to be more known to a non anime watching audience and not be too out there in its execution. Like a tutorial in a video game or something. The reason I would not consider Cowboy Bebop though is because I think its actually too different from the anime norm so it does not do a good job to show you what to expect from anime.

It's not surprising that they wouldn't accept a family member as an alibi. This is all part of Envy's plan to distract Roy that was mentioned an episode or two ago, so they aren't going to accept any alibi. Also it's a family member and family are more likely to lie to protect a loved one. They buried her partner's testimony. They also didn't contact Ed or Al. She specifically tells them that she fired her weapon in defense of them. That's proof enough that she wasn't going to get a fair trial.
@springdeerling78666 ай бұрын
Family members are allowed to testify for alibis IRL. There's been plenty of cases where a case wasn't solved or stalled because of a family member lying. I wish people would stop saying that family members aren't valid for an alibi. It's simply cause of the plan to frame her.

Edit: even our own military doesn't always follow the normal judicial process. While I was in the military, I knew 2 people going through judicial BS. Neither of them ever did anything wrong, but the cases were based on false accusations, and their careers were still very negatively affected as a result. The prosecution went to some frankly ludicrous lengths to discount or ignore as much defense as possible, including alibi testimonies.

There's a couple of things I've seen another reactor mention a couple of years ago when they saw this episode: 1.) Police investigations are done in the opposite of the scientific method. With the SM, you have a hypothesis, then you have evidence to support it, turning it into a theory, and when it gets peer-reviewed, it's other scientists trying to disprove your claims to see what the conclusion of your research is. Compared to police investigations, police start off with a theory, then collect evidence that support it. But in doing so, they end up unwittingly blocking out any evidence that might contradict their theory, such as whether or not Maria's gun actually matches the bullet fired. 2.) When a bullet hits something, especially something hard like metal, it warps and bends in a specific way. Whatever it hits will show that exact same deflection. The rifling (grooves inside a gun's barrel to make it spin) would also mark the bullet in a very specific way when fired, almost like how fingerprints are supposed to work.

The original show in the Japanese was released weekly, so those of us that were watching it subtitled as it aired did have to wait. Nowadays a lot of shows' dubs are released weekly alongside the original Japanese, but at a two week delay, so it's a more comparable viewing experience.

Also, keep in mind what Mustang said after they first learned that he was an Ishvalan, that Scar could be "justified" in what he was doing. As for Ross' trial, you've got to remember that they're living in a military dictatorship (led by Bradley), I know the show doesn't make that entirely clear, but that's why there's no real trial & she's easily railroaded. Finally, with Lan, her name is Lan Fan... a minor quibble, but just saying Lan had me confused for a second.

IIRC, the episodes came out every Thursday, along with Soul Eater, and I watched them both every week. The air dates mentioned at the end there *HAVE* to be when they were uploaded to whatever service is being used to watch them here: I know for a fact those simulcasts were between 2009-2012 because of what job I had when they were airing. I just don't remember exactly *WHICH* year at that job it was because time running together and all that. Edit: Hmm...Looking at wikipedia, it shows the release dates for each episode as a Sunday, and la year-ish after Japan... Maybe just Soul Eater was the simulcast? Or the simulcast was when it was released online and on TV at the same time? Both shows have release days of Sundays so I dunno why I'm remember Thursdays, but everything else checks out.
