On the eve of a new Korn world tour to support their brand new album, "The Paradigm Shift", Ray Luzier stopped by Ultimate Rhythm Studios to film a new episode for FullOnDrums.com. Ray's first appearance on the show was way back at episode 3!

In episode 28 Ray performs Love & Meth and talks about the recording process for "The Paradigm Shift". Since his big kit was packed up and ready to hit the road Ray threw down on the Batmobile! The Batmobile is a Pearl Reference kit featuring a 22" kick, 10" & 12" rack toms, and 14" and 16" floor toms. The snare was one of Ray's favorite 6"x14" Reference snares. The kit was covered in Remo drum heads.
Ray brought a full assortment of Sabian Cymbals and beat the heck out of them with his signature stick from Pro-Mark.

Ray brought the technical drumming aspect for Korn! There are much hardcore fans that don't accept him but they don't realize that Korn members are older and wiser, such as their sound! This evolution was much needed, in my opinion, obviously.

I remember seeing Ray in MI back in 2005 when he did an open house. I still have the drum sheet that he gave out during one of his presentations and it helped me to this day. Its crazy to see him playing in korn now. I guess you either get lucky or you don't. haha :p

i love the sound of that kit# the toms and bass are very low sounding and I love that! Korn already tunes their guitars really low so it makes sense that the drums would be tuned to the same tuning in drop A

ashden stephens This is roughly wrong. He uses AAX line cymbals yes - But not exclusively though. Kito it's better you type in ''Ray Luzier Kit' Second video (First one is 4 years old, this one is 1 year old) - Or copy paste this: /watch?v=BEg4grf4ntw But he uses a mix of HHX & AAX mostly, but has some Terry Bozzio's Vaults, Neil Peart's Paragon - All lines within the Sabian brand! Also he uses LP (Latin Percussion) Bell cymbals aswell!

Though Ray is the kind of guy that switches cymbal types, but keep the positioning and size. He might variate his main china from a 19'' Paragon to a 19'' Holy or a 19' AAX X-Treme - I've seen him use all three! His main crashes are HHX/AAX X-plosions, The only thing that never change in his setup is his ride. it's a 21'' AA Rock Ride (Sounds amazing imo) Also I've always seen him with a really chocked down HHX 18'' O-zone right by the ride. Amazing lad that Ray!

Kandem Well.. no.. and yes.. He doens't use one size of china and one type. He uses a lot of different ones, like mentioned... :) 21 Holy might deffo be one of them, haven't seen it myself nor heard him talk about it, mainly I've seen him use 18/19. But yeah, He's such a rad player and he seems to love switching it up.. :)
