My grandparents raised me. My Grandpa had one of those old pre fab truck bed campers and we used the heck out of it. If he’d have had the time and money, he would have done something like this. This would have been our life, if he could have talked Grandma into it. Thanks for posting.

For me, the ideas in kzbin.infoUgkxAfqpMLyFn37qcqUl0FAzqkkycQeXqrhP Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.

Love your camper log fireplace. Nothing like a fireplace to warm you up in the mountains. What a life. When I was young married with 3 kids, we camped in a used circus tent, then got a new tent, then got a new pop-up and added 2 dogs. But, I had to have a air conditioner. So perfect, we loved Mustang Island on the ocean, yellowstone, Boulder, Colorado, and went all over the country camping. 3 or 4 times a year. Traveled with camp group for awhile. Then we bought an old airstream trailer, fixed it up, but my ex left me for his mother and took the airstream before we ever took a trip in it. It sat in his parents farm yard and the rats got into it, after we fixed the thing up real cute. He was stressed as lineman, had a breakdown and retired young lives with his sister. Take care of your health and watch others, very bizarre!!! My retirement years, camping all over fizzled & I have always regretted it. Enjoy, simple is by far the best. I have had it both ways and still would pick being out in the woods by a river in a pop-up camper with my dog. Best part was making a early breakfast outside the camper. We would take all our mountain bikes and go...go..go...free as the birds and fish. Now I am old, with my dog, watching others camp, ha,ha!!! Blessings, and Happy Trails to you, until we meet again!!!

P Bayer: Love your "Now I am old, with my dog, watching others camp, ha,ha!!!" It's true that there always are more than one way to enjoy the moments of our life. For me, there's not any way to be considered as better than the others, let alone the best way. Only the most suitable. Wish you the most enjoyable present moment.

It's like a small sail boat inside, that's why (instead of like a house kitchen). In most campers the kitchen and bathroom takes up all the space, with 2 ft deep benches for like half the camper. They don't realise it's not enough space for a regular house kitchen. My van kitchen bench was 10" deep and ran across ways (right behind the two front seats) and so there was still heaps of seating (and bed) length behind.

Glad you're excited about it. Not a new concept. Store bought truck bed campers (among other kinds) are not the creation of some manufacture. Customs vans, campers etc. sold in stores today are the ingenuity of the average Joe. Back before the 1980s it was common to see trailers, vans, campers etc, homemade and not store bought. Manufactures stole the concept. So, go for it and build it yourself.

I like watching these videos for tips and pointers on customizing my own stuff. Any custom setup that serves your specific needs is a win. Everyone has different needs. I give this build a very sold A! At first I was not sold on the "wood look" but your explanation about repairs "while on the go" really makes sense! It's just good planning when you're not going to be near a place to fix something if there's an accident while on the trail or a tree falls. Just one thing though... Please... Move the paper towels further away from the propane stove? I did spot the CO2/fire detector but not the extinguisher? Just a thought (had a fire while camping once). You should put a slide out on that bad boy or built it long to go over the top of the cab of the truck . or build it stronger so it won't break so easy rolling over big rocks if it happens to bang into a rock wall or trees lol the windows I would put flexy glass or something strong so you still have good windows . another idea I would make some how very tough and hard to break into .
@TruckHouseLife4 жыл бұрын
I thought about it, but a slide would be heavy and too much hassle trying to weatherseal everything, dealing with ice buildup (when trying to close the slide) and also insulation.

I've always wanted to live in Alaska my whole life now I'm 60 years old and I'm never moved out of South Carolina United States what the hell is wrong with me anyway I just subscribed and liked your video can't wait to see more videos more Adventures you live in a beautiful state and a beautiful RV camper truck cabin

J m...I too have always dreamed of living in Alaska! I actually ran away from home when I was 8 yrs old...thought I was gonna live in the woods like the family in "Mountain family Robinson". 😁 My oldest son, his wife and children moved to Anchorage 2 yrs ago...her dad has already followed. I'm next! I've been searching for can old truck camper i can work on...because I plan to retire and live in it. In Alaska! I'm 52. It's never too late! Been in North Carolina for over 35 yrs and I'm sick of this heat! Husband says as long as he can fish he's happy. You should go.

j m.... I feel the same way. I think that's why living vicariously through these adventurers like this guy is such a gift. People can't travel like this for any number of reasons; family, jobs, kids or disabilities, but often times after watching these videos I am motivated that no matter how old I am that I could still get out there and travel. Until then I'll watching these amazing people.

You know what would be kind of cool. A long murphy type shelf above the one couch by stove, you pull it down to cook for counter space, and then push it back up when you want to sit there.
